Onvia and Cmpexpress use the same distributor. Cmpexpress has real time
inventory. To see if something is in stock go to Cmpexpress and search
for it. Onvia uses the secondary distributor. I just checked and there
are 26 slocket in Fullerton CA.

You have to call Onvia. That was exactly what has happened to me. My order was showing back ordered as well, and I called in to cancel it. Then, they told me that they turned out to be in stock. Now, my order status is showing item shipped.

My take of what happened was that they probably assign one warehouse for your order. When you place your order, they look for all of their warehouses for the available inventory. If the item is backordered at all of thm, they assign one closest to your address and wait for the item to become available at that particular warehouse. The problem is that the item can get stocked in some, but not all, of the warehouses. If this happens, your order will not be shipped unless you call them and have them re-assign a warehouse.

This has happened to me several times with Onvia. I had to call them for IBM 75GXP hard drive, Pentium 700, Linksys Router, this slocket, case fans and so on.

So make sure to call them for yours.

Onvia and buy.com and bunch of these online retailers all get their stuff from Ingram Micro. Based on Ingram Micro real time inventory info, they have about 110 left. They are looking to get like 240 next week, so the board should be it in stock.

I ordered three of these last Friday (10/6). Yesterday, I received an e-mail from Onvia saying that they are out, will be out and my order is cancelled. Onvia has been listing these adapters as being in stock all this time.

I went to outpost.com's site (which has inventory breakdown by warehouse) and these adapters are/were in stock at at least two places. I then called Onvia and then informed them about my order, no stock ... stock at ... and they then apologized and said the converters will go out from the TN warehouse today.

It seems as though Onvia doesn't want to sell these things (or just not at the price they advertise) or else their system is really messed up. My last order with Onvia was similar to this.

Here is what happened to me. Called on Friday (10/6) to order one.
Guy said impossible. I?m in California, and as of Friday (10/6) they do not ship anymore from California warehouse (Fullerton) to California customers??!!??!And only warehouse that has it in stock is in California (Fullerton)!! Then I tried to order from the website (??!!)..Surprise surprise got the order number!! Called them back and after checking my order number girl said they do ship from California Warehouse (Fullerton) to California customers but via Tennessee!! Whatever..
Called yesterday (10/10) to see what is going on..girl said it is shipped and here is UPS Trk Nbrs ! Cool? Not! Couple of hours later received an e-mail from Onvia Customer Service ?Dear sir blah blah we don?t have it in stock can not ship it so call us to order similar product..?!!???!!??
Today (10/11) around 9:30am UPS delivered me a package and yes, inside was MS-6905master converter card UPC:0816909000399 !!!
I?m very happy..Hope I will not be the only one..

Ordered mine Friday morning, got it this afternoon. After reading some doubts on this thread, i've been checking the order status on Onvia everyday. Only this morning did it finally show a tracking number.

Freak. They raised the price. It's now $11.41
