MSI NEO4 Platinum has trouble starting

I put together the following computer about 6 months ago.
AMD ATHLON 64 3800+
MSI K8N NEO4 PLATINUM/SLI
CORSAIR TWINX1024-3200XLPRO 1GB KIT
Seagate 160GB SATA Hard drive
XFX NVIDIA 6800GT

For the past month or so it has been having trouble starting. When I power it up the fans kick on, including the video cars fan, and the motherboard lights up but the monitor doesn't get a signal and the memory activity LED's don't flash. If I turn the computer on and off a few more times, most of the time just once, it boots up and runs fine. Once it is started I can leave it on for weeks and never have a problem. I heard some people are having BIOS issues with this motherboard, and was wondering if anyone else has seen this problem.

Does it happen if you unplug all USB ports? I have the same mobo and mine would do the same kind of hanging up. I've heard these boards have some compatability problems with some USB devices. Lemme know if it work. BTW, what bios version are you using?

The BIOS is version 3.0. As far as the USB issue, the only compaonents I have connected all the time is a HP 920c printer and my microsoft optical mouse, neither of which are USB 2.0 devices. I will probably go ahead and flash the BIOS though, I guess I will have to go dig up a floppy drive :frown:

Well the newest bios version is like 3.7. By the way, my printer is what what was causing my system to sometimes hang or even worse BSOD. I don't think the device has to be 2.0 spec to cause a problem, just the fact that it's USB. Download MSI's live update 3 and you can flash the bios through windows. It's pretty painless and automated. Lemme know how it works out.
