Lo peeps,

Im waiting for availability here in the UK for this mobo, and wanted to ask you if this mobo supports DDR2 or DDR memory?

Are there mobos supporting both, ( this one even ) and what are the "plus" of putting on DDR2??

DDR2 atm is more expensive here and with a little stretching I can put on 1 gig or DDR rather than 512 Megs of DDR2...

What say you? ( if of course you can use both ).

CPU that will be bought is A64-3000 Winchester.

A64 mobos can't support anything that the CPU doesn't support, since the memory controller is on the CPU.
So, that mobo will only support DDR, DDR2 support will come when AMD implements it.

Thx dude, so atm no need to wait for that as well?? ( since the mobo already is a wainting since its not available ) but instead get plain DDR

Looks like just DDR to me. $450.00 for a mobo? Hope it's worth it.

Yeap thats the mobo, but its not 450$

Atm in the UK its for delivey at 150£

which is with the latest exchange rate around, 293$ ( and dont forget that the dollar has had quite a big tumble downhill the last 1.5 month ) still 293 is high but not 450 high

( of course this is in case the price wont change but I see no reasson to change tbh )

$293 thats friggn expensive? isnt the MSI nf3 $130? $170 odd for and extra pci-e slot? + another $300odd for the 6800gt.... I'll just stick to my ferrari thanks

(Well Hello) Dolly,

I'm just in the process of building a system too and noticed that quality DDR RAM is getting very cheap over the last few days. Fer instance, Fry's (Outpost.com) just sold Kingston Hyper-X 1gb package (2x512 DIMMS) for about $150 after rebate.

There's also a bunch of "value" RAM coming out from manufacturers for $100 for 1gb, but most of this seems to be slow stuff--really slow stuff. I also saw the --incredibly cool-- PSUs from X-connect going cheap on Ebay. 500w for $70-$80 this morning.

Of course, apologies if any or all of the above comes off as boring unsolicited information. Good luck with your system.
