What seems to be the choice for P67 chipsets Asus or Msi?

Over the years I went from gigabyte to ASUS to DFI back to Gigabyte and now back to ASUS. They really did it right this time I think, and the GB is a big letdown with a plain jane bios format - looks like any other GB. The MSI were always troublesome for me, but the latest GD55 and GD65 boards were pretty good (Hardocp just loved them), and their similar numbers in P67 also look good, and their fancy EFI bios is fantastic.

But I put my money down on the ASUS, have had it for a few days, just waiting for reasonably discounted SB 2600K

I already have the Asus P8P67 Deluxe, it was delivered yesterday, with the 2600K to arrive on Monday.

This is my first Asus board for a few years, so I hope everything is well.

BTW: two new BIOS for the P8P67 Deluxe on the Asus website.

4. Enhance USB 3.0 compatibility under BIOS setup screen.
5. Enhance USB compatibility.

1053 change log

I'm going to hang back a month, wait for the consumer reviews to come in, and see what's working best.

maybe not a bad idea if Asus is already releasing new BIOS and the boards arent even officially for sale yet!

A week ago I would have said Asus, but that MSI GD65 looks mighty strong. My impression is it leans towards the most features and fewest quirks so far. Tempted to pull the trigger at superbiiz. I also noticed Buy.com has P67 boards for sale now.

I'm leaning towards the same thing. Or the MSI GD65 or 55. Darkhorse is the ASRock Extreme 4. Just don't know whether that's a good long term play.

Any guess on egg prices for that 2600k setup tomorrow?

Same dilemma, MSI P67A-C45 vs ASUS P8P67. I know that P8P67 is overall a better mb, and they're even not in the same price range (msi is 35-40 euros cheaper where I'm from). Is the difference between these two really worth 40 euros, or should I just go the msi way 'cause I would not even use the second pci-e asus has?

Newegg has MSI mobo deals with the 2600 and 2500K's. 50 dollars off
Forgot to mention, I already ordered 2500K from a shop in my city, so that deal doesn't mean anything to me, altough it sounds awesome. Now I only need to pick a mobo between those two I mentioned before.

Wish they had these deals last night. If I have my order still in the "processing" stage, any ideas if I'd have trouble cancelling my orders and repurchasing the combo deal? Never cancelled an order with newegg. I sure don't want double charges.

Pretty sweet deal. Wonder if it's worth it to switch from the Asus Pro to the MSI GD65 combo to get the free software. Can still get $20 off a 2600k/Asus Pro.

Just goto Live chat tomorrow and they can change it if it's still being processed. My 2600K is in the "Charged" status so i'm good to go. LOVE preferred account

Just wanted to come back and say how great Newegg customer service was. They refunded me the amount of the difference if buying the combo.

It's not really $50 off...that's newegg sketchiness at it's best. They throw in a free "3dmark 2011", but it actually has a retail cost of "29.99". they add that to the total, then give it to you for "free", and another $20 off for the combo. They're doing the same thing with the Civ 5 combo's. Tacking the price of the civ 5 onto the total, and then saying it's $50 off and a free civ 5. Misleading at best, purposely misleading at worst...

No way I'd pick an MSI board over an Asus board, especially in the $150+ arena.

I don't see why not?....especially when users are having BIOS issues with their Asus P67 Pro boards and it also has poorer space around CPU area compared to MSI GD65.

Personally Asus are overrated and I would regard Gigabyte and MSI at the very least as good as Asus.

Btw found a new review of the MSI P67A GD65 board.

If you are planning a Sandy Bridge build, the GD65 should certainly be on your list of possible board selections based on great looks, rock solid performance, high-end components / technology and a very fair price tag.

OCIA.net has awarded the MSI P67A-GD65 our Gold Seal of Approval!

Was reading over on [H] the msi board in sli was nearly impossible to hook up the front panel connections. They were suggesting breaking the connector in half so that it would work... Kind of messed up imo. Was thinking about getting the GD65 but am having some reservations now because I want to run sli.

There's something wrong with the MSI boards not being able to hold their voltage from what I've read around.
