Dang... I was on the hunt for a decent LGA775 MOBO for my backup rig. Most posters on the FS forums want more than this for used MOBO's with 1/2 the features. I mean h3ll... $50 + tax ($5.77 for us poor CA bastages) for a great board?? THANKS OP!

That is the strangest looking I/O backplate AND northbridge heatsink I've ever seen. On top of that, I think this has the worst color scheme in history...

LGA775 / P45 / ICH10R and a great feature set is a smoking deal even without the MIR in my book. The MIR is just icing on the cake (a lot of icing at this price).

YA, that NB/SB/MOFSET heatsink reminds me of a lot of the Zalman stuffs. I got my order in already with a confirmation #, yet no email from Newegg yet. Wonder if they took the day off?

Anyway I'm gonna replace the MSI MATX G31TM-P21 in my backup rig that came free with the CPU I bought. The extra space for my GT8800 to breathe, better OC features and overall better feature-set together should be nice. Heck... even with the limited OC options on the current MSI MOBO I'm able to get my E6300 (45nm Wolfdale) up to 3.4Ghz easily. I can hardly wait to go at it for real with this new MOBO. Heck.. I can probably sell this practically new (used 2 whole days) retail G31TM-P21 for $25 at least to boot.

Nope... mine was brand spankin new. Hope you can get a replacement from the egg. I would not settle for a refund at this price point with the rebate. See if you can talk them into an "equal" mobo if they have no back stock or RMA it would be my recommendation. The MOBO is well worth it.

Well to those that got into this deal do not be suprised if you get the rebate denied. Mine just was, and they said the newegg invoice was not enough info. It lists the invoice#,the Order#,and the tracking # THAT SHOWS DELIVERED. I sent 3 e-mails explaining that but they are not listening. If they treat customers like this I hope they learn something. I upgrade hardware many times a year and now I will not but MSI again. Stay away from MSI rebates maybe they are going DOWN? Well I hope so.

Complain to Newegg. They have some culpability over manufacturer's rebates because those kind of promotions are often negotiated between the manufacturer and the vendor.

Talk to newegg about the rebate situation. You might get lucky and have them make a "one time courtesy adjustment" in your favor. Newegg promoted the rebate, and gained the resulting sales. Also, some manufacturers respond to negative Newegg reviews (at least you can warn others).

MSI paid up when I had rebate trouble, couple years ago, after I wrote MSI a letter, cc to the attorney general of the state, the BBB, and the reseller.

Like their products, hate their rebates. Sometimes jump in on MSI rebate deal threads with a cautionary tale of woe.

My rebate got confirmed and my check arrived today. MSI is as d*ckish about rebates as any other company. They are looking for ANY reason to deny a rebate. I just had 2 other rebates denied from MSI. I had purchased a combo deal from Fry's.. 2 of them. They responded only one per household and denied BOTH claims. I emailed back a week ago... "ok.. so I only qualify for one rebate.. send the one I qualify for". Now they say I never sent the sales receipt. I replied "bullsh*t I didn't" and said I'd be happy to send it again snail mail or PDF as I scan every form and rebate receipt prior to sending them off. I've received crickets in response so far.

MSI is just BAD. Said also no re-submission, but I sent the orig Newegg invoice and they said not all the info was included that was just bull.............
No more MSI stuff for me
