If I'm not mistaken, $180 is the MSRP for 270s so I doubt they will be going down lower than that anytime soon, especially considering that the $150 MSRP 265s barely got their feet wet.

Went with 200 for vision tek .. possible lifetime warranty no tax at tigerdirect and the 270x oc version,, not sure if made bad decision. Everyone selling off cards.figure get a cool one..

$200 for a 270X is not a bad deal by any means. Especially with lifetime warranty and no tax. I'm not sure if Vision Tek is any good since I haven't heard much about that brand nor have I ever used it.

I don't know how good VisionTek product are nowadays, but I had one of their XT850XTPE cards that was rock solid. (well...except for the sketchy ATI drivers)
Lasted me for several years...and was still working fine when I rebuilt in 2010.

You can either set it up to mine on two threads (-g 2) which will cause minimal input lag and run at low priority or you can control the intensity through cgwatcher so that the intensity goes up only when the PC is idle.

440khs for a 270x is below average, but I think that card is begging for some tweaking and OCing because it should be close to 500 :twisted:

My MSI Gaming 270 is coming in tomorrow - I'll have her mining by tomorrow evening It's not profitable on its own, but I'm offsetting its cost by selling two old graphics cards.

Mine is working fantastically. Quiet and cool while mining. I've used many msi models with this cooler and have not had a single issue with them.

I have an MSI card and I've noticed loud fan rattling in the bearings at fan speed 85%-95%.

Fortunately, I don't have to run my fan that high for gaming, but it does strike me as odd.

I have an MSI 7870. For me, it's at 70% that the rattling starts and if I turn it up any higher it starts getting really loud. Luckily, I was able to undervolt the card via afterburner so there is no need to ever run it past 60% fan speed, even with another card mining right below it.
