MSI StarForce 831??? Is It a GF2 Pro? If Not, Which To Get???

On newegg.com there is an MSI StarForce 831 GeForce2 Pro 64MB DDR RAM Heat Sink w/ Fan. Price is $145.00 so I was pretty surprised since the cheapest I've seen a Pro is the Leadtek at $180 or so. However, I could not find this card on the MSI website. Is it a GF2 Pro? And if so, is it a good quality one? 5ns or 5.5ns RAM?

If not, which GF2 Pro do you all recommend. I want something under $200 for gaming that will last me at least 18-24 months for gaming. Thanks.

I picked up a MSI Starfoce 831 last week Playmaker and yes it's a real Pro. It has the 5ns ram and it's a heck of a gaming card especially for the price.

Wow. Is it better then the Leadtek w/ only 5.5ns memory? $145 seems real cheap for a 64mb pro, so I'm kinda warry.

I just ordered the MSI Starforce 831 G2 Pro from Newegg. I'm under the impression these are the 5ns just like the last ones they had for about $180.00

A couple other sites had them for about the same price as Newegg,looks like there finally dropping in price.Should go quick at this price ,I'll let you know about the ram if it's not the 5ns 200/400, should have it by Friday.

I ordered the 8831 G2 PRO from CDRexpress. It's indeed the 64mb 5ns. I'm hitting a cool 230/460 on my PRO. The 8831 is a fine card that gets to the Ultra range for a cheap price. I'd recommend it over the GTS.

Yeah, it's a great card for overclocking. I'm at 230/450. Still trying to get it slightly higher. This a very fast card for a great price.

Had the earlier model, the MSI StarForce 815. It had 5ns memory and overclocked well also. Great deal for $145.
