I saw the K8N-Diamond SLI board at the MSI booth at Consumer Eelectronics Show in Las Vegas on Friday. The rep there swore that it would start shipping between 1 and 2 weeks from now (though i'm still not certain I believe her after all of the misleading statements regarding these SLI boards we've been fed over the last couple of months.)

Sounds promising though. Just thought I'd share the tip for whatever it may be worth.

EDIT: Forgot to mention some of the best parts about going to CES this year.
1. I conned the lot attendant into letting me park in employee parking for $5.00 (all the regular parking was $20)
2. The security at the door let me into the show without even having a badge (sheesh I just waltzed right in on the first try).
3. I also managed to get into the Gibson Guitars tent after the show and they were pouring free Jim Beam for a few hours while live bands were jamming.
4. I get such a rush from getting into events where I'm supposedly not allowed.......

Sounds great, so that means two months until widespread availability???

Then again, without the PCIe x1 slots, ehhh . . . .

I asked her if they would be shipping decent quantities or just a few at first and she said they would be widely available.

But yeah.......what else would she say? They pay her to market the product, not to tell the truth

My guess is that this release will be similar to the A8N release and they will be damn hard to find and massively overpriced just to sweeten the deal. Sorta goes without saying lately.

Not all board are created equal to come out and say the DFI board will blow everything else away without any stats to back it up is careless.

I personally wouldn't by the DFI board as the colours make it look like someone threw up in you case. yellow and red just don't do it for me.

The MSI neo4 board OC'ed to 370MHz now that is going to be hard to top, step up to the mark DFI!

I'll be trading in my A8N SLI Deluxe for the K8N Neo4 Platinum. All I need is an Ultra, and if I want to host a lan at my digs, I'll always be able to use the second 6600GT.

To be honest with you I'm not 100% sure the board was running at those speeds. When you use a .5 multiplier on the K8N Neo2 it tricks CPU-Z and others, I'm sure they could have done the same here if they wanted. So, unless it's running 1:1 and memory benchmarks back that up, or it's running the CPU's higher multiplier already, I don't necessarily believe it.

Do you guys hate Asus or something? A8N is avialable at sub $200 range. Besides the little chipset fan, which Gigabyte has it too and MSI DFI probably do too, A8N is pretty decent. What do you gain by waiting for god-knows how long for MSI and DFI, which may or may not give you couple mhz more OC ability? Your blind devotion to DFI and MSI is quite lost on me...

I don't find that to be the case. The board is rock stable, easy to set up, easy to tweak, and comes with loads of features. I'd like to see nVidia come to the table with a Unified Driver set for NF4 (a must) and release updated Forceware drivers for SLI. But then, that's nVidia's responsibility, not Asus'.

One gets that feeling reading all the issue people are having.

MSI came out on top of the last round of AGP boards, now lets see if the can deliver the knockout blow to top the PCIe boards.

All the other Mobo manufacturers are playing catch up.

I've RMA'd 2 a8n's already, so I have some doubts about the build quality of this board myself. I really like what it has to offer and there have been many people who have had 0 problems with it as well as those like myself who have had a nightmare so far.

I personally think it will prove to be an excellent board at some point in the future but few can argue that this board was released a bit before it was ready for "prime time". I'll give it one more chance and then if all is not well I'm jumpin' ship.

New tech. New problems. I guess it goes with the territory and we should not be all that surprised when some of these problems arise....
