Yeah just cause Google gets more press for theirs doesn't mean someone else had not tried it before.. Heck I came up with the mapquest idea in 1995..(and I am am sure I was not alone)

Most of the MS sat view maps of the D/FW area are 2 to 3 years older than Google. MS overlays the roads from the road map view on the sat view, but the actual road is not in the pic.

Both sites have the same road data for my street, but MS has an actual photo of my house. Google's image on the other hand looks like it was painted with water colors. You cannot tell what in the world you are looking at.

Actually, if you don't want to load the Google app, you can go to:
maps.google.com and get basically the same functionality.
