MS's new Live Mesh Service

I have been part of the beta/tech preview for a while and have to admit that I really love the service overall.

I love how it just seamlessly syncs all my files in the background to the 'cloud' and/or other computers.
It just works. Love it!

BUT I absolutely fvcking HATE the live mesh bar that is installed along with it in Windows Explorer.
I am considering dumping the service because that stupid fly-out bar annoys me so much.

Another BIG ANNOYANCE is that you have to install Live Mesh in the admin account. It will not work properly if you install as a normal user (even if you run it with admin priviliges). Way to go MS! Can't get your own software to cooperate.


What are your thoughts? Have you tried it?
If any MS developers read this:

GET RID OF THE @#$%@#$%^$#%^ live mesh bar in Windows Explorer and fix the installation from a normal user account!!

I tried Live Mesh back in the day. It had no uninstaller and ran a bunch of bullshit background services. I was forced to re-image my laptop to a week-old backup to get rid of it.

Right now I use DropBox. These guys have nailed it. Excellent program.

No problems here installing/running Mesh on 3 Vista PCs as a regular user.
The flyout is kind of annoying, but it only shows up when accessing Mesh folders, which makes sense. It's not like it's there when you are using Explorer to browse local files.

I like the amount of storage (5GB) but don't care for the interface. I'm sticking with Dropbox for now - it's essentially replaced my flash drives.

The only thing I don't care for Dropbox is the inability to change which folder(s) are synced. However, that feature is in the works according to the DB forums. I'm loving DB so much that I may actually spring for a premium account when they become available.
