I'm hearing people I used to consider Trump mouthpieces now admit it's probably time to impeach.

Holy crap. Someone pinch me.

I clicked “show ignored posts” and found out that slowspyder has gotten even more boring than he was. It’s like he’s not even trying anymore. That or his brain is rotting from spending all his time trolling the internet rather than doing anything of value.

His posts are weak because he's not getting much oxygen because he's been sucking so much trump dick.

Certainly so, but will the senate convict? What's the political ramifications if they don't? I have a suspicion, on the surface, that the democrats would suffer more for impeaching without subsequent conviction than the Republicans for not convicting. Maybe.
I personally feel that after this all gets digested and put on the table, the republican party will be at 'minimum support levels', basically around where it is now, which is 30% or whatever. I'd personally view any congressman as lesser at this point for *not* initiating impeachment procedures in fear of it failing. With this report, it literally cannot get worse for Trump, there's no reason not to aside from cowardice.

Why would you do that? That's like punching yourself in the dick because you forgot how it felt... just don't do it!

Then separation of powers doesn't exist if your interpretation is correct which is worse than Congress potentially not getting grand jury testimony.

Separation of powers absolutely exists, there is just no constitutionally granted power to the judiciary over the control of grand jury testimony. SCOTUS established this in your own link and the decision was unanimous. If there had been a separation of powers issue Congress could not have mandated such secrecy.

Right now he has to make up his own talking points. He is at weakest when he has to do his own thinking. Give him 48 hours or so when the new talking points are available the quality should improve by 1 or 2%.

The Senate won't convict, but I think the Dems aren't counting on that, either. The impeachment could hang over Trump like a cloud (on top of his many horrible acts) and nudge the 2020 vote in the Dems' direction.

It's crazy how quickly trump has radicalized the fanatical portion of his base. Reality is unknown to them, it's just whatever words come out of that orange degenerate's mouth. He parrots 'no collusion, no obstruction' and has his lackey do the same, they believe it. Meanwhile this report shows him repeatedly outright trying to obstruct.

They have been reduced to automatons that take memes and buzz phrases as reality. Facts no longer matter and are fake if they contravene the lies from dear leader.

I dunno. Quite a bit of the country doesn't care at all about this report, and I don't mean just Trump loyalists. I mean middle American swing voters. Constant impeachment efforts may push many of them away.

While I completely agree with you emotionally, I think the political calculus is complicated.

That started LONG before Trump became president. He became president BECAUSE of the Republican party radicalizing their base and painting the democrats as the boogeyman that will rape their children and confiscate their guns.

Remind me how Barr concluded Trump had no "intent to obstruct"??? Disagreement on "legal theories" with Mueller? Mueller spelled it out succinctly:

What for? Trump has been exonerated. There is nothing to charge him for and any "evidence" is circumstantial (and projection, really) at best. You can whine all you want, but at the end of the day I was right again, AT P&N was wrong again. There will not be an impeachment, there is nothing to charge him on, you will have to actually try and win an election to get a Democrat in. You lost this one, nothing more to it than that.
Hey stupid, ordering Don McGahn to fire Mueller is not circumstantial.

Honestly this is something that's pointless to argue about so I'll simply concede the point to you even though I disagree as I've laid out. I'm not fighting for the information to be withheld from Congress so my process argument is a sideshow; ideally I suppose if it's not released voluntarily then Congress could just file a lawsuit for it and SCOTUS could rule one way or the other. From a transparency angle it should be released. I continue to hold also it really makes no difference if the grand jury testimony gets released as the political calculus isn't going to change. It will come down to a political decision on whether what Trump did constitutes "high crimes and misdemeanors." The grand jury testimony won't matter in Trump's case any more than grand jury testimony would have mattered when Clinton was impeached for lying under oath.

Hey stupid, ordering Don McGahn to fire Mueller is not circumstantial.

But he wasn't fired and was allowed to carry out his investigation, which did not find anything substantial.

I think it is funny that you guys are dancing around the corpse of the investigation like you've gotten what you wanted.
