He is releasing a special version of the report to congress which is unredacted except for the grand jury info that he cannot legally release. So everybody should be happy.

Nope, he has to release the grand jury information to Congress as well. If a law says Barr can't release that information to Congress then that law is unconstitutional.

Chris Wallace is not the typical Fox guy. He attempts old school reporting.

Old school reporting - Do you mean the truth?

Actually...He's not even acting as a White House counsel. That would imply he is defending the integrity of the Office of the President. He's simply acting as a defense attorney for the shitbird in the Oval Office.

We've gone so low that I was actually saying to myself - "Well, at least he didn't savage Christopher Steele's reputation... yet!"

Who wants to take bets that Trump fights all of this all the way to SCOTUS?

So any bets on when the leaks start? Mueller's team was silent for two years. They got vocal after Barr released his little 4 page summary. I can't imagine what they are going to do after today's display.

Barr is a damn disgrace, what a choad. He came into this having already forfeited his credibility, and since then has repeatedly given us cause to doubt his impartial position by echoing both partisan talking points and pure Trumpshit. This guy has no credibility.

Wtf is Mueller, isn't he supposed to be there?? This reeks to high heaven. Oh if only republicans could care about their democracy as much as they do what a gay, black Jewish actor did for pity and to increase his PR exposure. Sick republicans have no shame and an abundance of malignant hypocrisy.

I want to know what Adam Schiff thinks of the unredacted report. If he agrees with Barr, then I have no issues and eagerly await all the fun from SDNY to begin.
Why would Mueller put his stamp of approval on this shit show by being there.

I mean think of the logic otherwise:

1) according to the executive branch the president can't be indicted for criminal activity while in office.
2) the proper recourse according to them is for Congress to impeach the president.
3) a grand jury could be presented with evidence that indicated the president committed a crime but they could not indict him due to the above rule.
4) according to conservatives, Congress would not be allowed to see the evidence that the grand jury compiled which would merit impeachment.

Perfect circular reasoning. You can't indict him, you must impeach him. Also, you can't see the evidence on what you're supposed to be impeaching him about.

As of today, I believe, Mueller is no longer a federal employee and therefore will be able to testify before Congress.

They can legally release grand jury info to the judicial committee. There is a explicit exception to the grand jury confidentiality for judicial review, which is what the judicial committee would be doing.

Anyone want to put money on how ridiculous the Mueller report will be redacted?

I'm not putting any faith in anything Barr has touched.

So, per Trump, Barr and the GOP - If I run from the police it's OK since I did it because I was frustrated that I might get arrested. Got it.

He's also shitting all over the prerogatives of Congress to decide what is obstruction and what is not by purporting to clear the President of obstruction on his own accord, and also by arrogating to himself the decision on what information they will receive.

I mean, Trump obstructed justice publicly, by railing about the investigators and constantly wailing and screaming about his previous AG. It's possible it's not illegal for him to do that, but removal of a President isn't always necessarily about criminality. It's up to Congress to make that call.

Catch-22. The DoJ can petition the judge to release the info. They haven't, of course.

Even Foxnews agrees (Chris Wallace this morning): "The Attorney General seemed almost to be acting as the counselor for the defense, for the counselor for the president, rather than the Attorney General" ...
Chris Wallace is part of the deep state liberal conspiracy so his opinion doesn't count...

Barr already testified in Congress that he would not, but he said the committee was welcome to. Wouldn't want to piss of his boss.

So just spreading rumors.
Wait, I thought you were perfectly okay with that?
In all fairness what he said was:

And they say the noise causes cancer.”

I don't know who "They" are, but from the wording he heard it from someone else.

I don't believe or think that noise causes cancer.

Unless you are in California where everything is known to cause cancer. /s

I see no Constitutional conflict *IF* Congress passed the law and provided a restriction that would include themselves from seeing parts of a report. Especially since they could amend the law to remove that provision or could have provided a means in the law of bypassing such restrictions. IANAL but I find it hard to believe the judicial branch would overrule a law based on the principle "we as Congress didn't really mean it when we passed that law and would rather you strike it down rather than change the law."

If he doesn't approve he should be up there and make it clear that's the case. Allowing Barr to weave a narrative without being challenged helps Trump subvert the law. Mueller is a by the book guy though, so it's probably more to do with shane's observation.

As of today, I believe, Mueller is no longer a federal employee and therefore will be able to testify before Congress.

Trump and his team (which Barr is a part of, having made it abundantly clear he works for Trump and not the people) have zero credibility. Mueller needs to testify asap.

Previous Congresses cannot bind the current one and no law can stop congress from carrying out its constitutional duties.
