This seems like pretty pathetic reaching. I went through his Twitter account when he was named. I saw one post mentioning Trump in 2015.
This need to blame the other side by people for every tragedy is pathetic. There was a chance the rhetoric against the media was a contributing factor. That chance disappeared when it became known what this guys history is. He was a shitty person and a lunatic. He was motivated by his own sense of self worth it seems, nothing else.
Bullshit!
Its just as likely that the rhetoric against the media simply escalated the hatred that was already there. You can't toss out that this is a contributing factor just because of his history. He may have just gone about hating the media in a nonviolent way, but then he see's the LEADER of the nation say the things he does? Not even talking about what other people say? Maybe he watches fox news.
He goes into a Walmart and sees the shirt that they are selling OFF THE RACK! That the rope, tree and journalist just needs assembly! And perhaps it was that or something Trump said, or something other right wing nut jobs said that pushed him over the edge.
Your never ending need to try and stop this from being political is not working. Any time a gun is used for violent ends in such a public way, it's political. He purchased the gun legally. He has a long standing history of mental instability. If common sense gun laws were put in place that stopped people with so much mental health problems from purchasing a gun, this might not have happened. That argument alone makes this political.
Furthermore - not everyone is political. They may not even know which side is fighting for which things. Some people go through life completely ignorant of what a typical democrat or republican stands for. Many people are more than happy to live their life without ever delving into or even trying to understand politics. Even more people think they do understand politics and don't even have a clue. Who is to say this guy even understood the politics as they are in this country right now? I have seen countless a clown who might identify as a pub or dem and not even understand why, because they don't even realize what that does or does not represent. But that doesn't mean their actions aren't something that can be looked at by other people as political.
Lets say the guy has gone through life self-identifying as a democrat, so be it. But would we take that at face value any way? My own mother no longer self-identifies as a repub simply because of conversations I've had with her over the last 5 years, namely the last two when I've become very politcal myself. She is the age of a typical Fox news viewer, and still didn't understand so much - not just because she was being spoon fed by Fox - but because of other factors. She simply shared her political identity with my father even though it went against her own moral fabric. Never even thought about what that meant. For some people its pure ignorance, or cognitive dissonance - but it doesn't matter. People don't always know who they are, they tell us with their actions. He can go around claiming to be a liberal all he wants and yet this action alone tells us differently.
EDIT: OH - and I also posted pages back about how the public twitter for this person that was put out might not even be his twitter. And even if it was, it shows so many inconsistencies. Other people brought them up as well. What about him arguing with what appears to be himself? Why are there pictures of him in the media that look NOTHING like his supposed Twitter account? Have you not considered that this twitter account referenced, that you "researched" isn't even him? Even if it is him, it shows someone with incredible mental health issues. He pretends to be someone else, and also is arguing and fighting with himself on a separate twitter account. Someone like that may not even have been allowed to purchase a firearm if idiots weren't in control.
