Multiple projector gaming setup

5760x1080 or better pushed out to a massive picture. Is there any problems running multiple projectors the same as you would monitors? 11520x6480 with six 1080p projectors?

Replacing bulbs every few months might get expensive keeping the picture the same but likely not an issue for those that could afford the initial purchase of a couple 5970s or Fermi cards. Would make a hell of a display for advertising people as well.

I wouldn't imagine it being an issue. The projects would be treated like monitors, signal sent and selected resolution and signal displayed.

What are you planning on gaming/watching movies on? The side of a mountain?

Here at work we have a wall of 9 projectors. They are tied into a single system and can act as a single large monitor or 9 seperate monitors. But they are tied into a special system before they reach the main PC. Had a company that specializes in this sort of thing come in to install it and get all the projectors lined up correctly. They also needed a speacial video card to handle it all. Its more for buisness and no where near gaming perfomance.

But if this is for your own personal gaming you can have up to 4 projectors running off of 2 video cards. But you may not be able to configure them to act as one large square display in game. Maybe as a paneramic type of display. But then i'm sure the game has to support the use of multiple monitors. Now i did find this.

Should allow you to configure the projectors in teh manor you would like but weather or not the ggames will support it and run it like a large projector is unknown.

Wouldn't Eyefinity work the same with projectors as it would with monitors? From the reviews I've seen so far it seems to support up to six displays using onboard card outputs from two cards.

Lets say you took six 1080p projectors and set them up to throw pictures side by side for a picture that is 6 foot tall by 54 foot wide at a resolution of 11,520 x 1080.

If the wall had a nice curve to it maybe. Correctly placed surround sound. Maybe that project Natal controller that's been brought up at CES. Interactive Imax at home?

Edit: I guess Eyefinity only supports four outputs side by side. It would be maxed out at 6' by 37'. 7680x1080.

Edit2: This actually seems more doable all the time. Guys go out and buy $25k Harleys so why not $15k on a high end gaming rig, four projectors, and some decent audio equipment. It's something for the whole family. Assuming you have a 40' wall in your house that won't have people and things getting in your way.

current eyefinity cards support 3 displays in a number of orientations. the upcoming eyefinity6 card will support (duh) 6 displays (mini dp only though). including projectors.
