Multiplier setting effect

Setup:
Iwill KK 266-R
1 GHz 266 Thunderbird (unlocked)
256 MB Crucial 133 CAS 2

Currently I have OC'ed as follows:
FSB: 142
Multiplier: x8.5
Core voltage: 0.80 V
VIO: +5%

I don't want to change the FSB anymore. What kinda effect would increasing the multiplier have...
What kinda problems does it cause... I don't want to have to reinstall Win 2K and all my software.

Anyone have a similar setup?

fsb x multiplier = clock speed

if you raise the multiplier, you will be overclocking more.

Increaseing the multiplier just increases the speed of the cpu without changing anything else. Sometimes, it'll make the computer more unstable or the cpu might need more voltage...as with any overclock. Just play with it...except for frying your cpu, which won't happen unless you're careless or you don't have good cooling, theren't not much harm in fooling around with the settings a little. You might have to clock the FSB down a little in order to raise the multiplier.

Just like changing the FSB, you won't have to change any software.
