Multiprotocol Instant Message tool - Comparative review?

Can you point me to a comparative review of Multiprotocol IM tools? There seem to be quite a few free tools that different people like. Am looking for some detailed reviews with comparisons of the best tools?
Right now I am thinking that it is between Carrier and Pidgin (but that may just be becuase I really do not know much about the tools in this space)?

I've used Adium, Pidgin, and trillian (I even paid for a copy of trillian 3). I by far love Adium the best. But it is osx only. My second favorite is Pidgin and that is simply because it is free and open source and works well. As for comprehensive reviews, I can't really help you there.
