As the title suggests, I'm looking for some kind of folding or loft bed to put in a bedroom in order to save space. Anyone have any experience or recommendations? Looking for something that's at least a full-size bed to accommodate an adult.

what do you want to use the space under a loft for? low headroom, difficult access.

a murphy in a guest room that is also used as an office or whatever is a better option i think.

I want to use the room as a small photography studio (it's about 12x13 ft) and be able to convert it into a bedroom when needed. So saving space either by having a folding bed, or a high bed that lets me "work" under it is what I had in mind

I'll look around for pictars, @Fenixgoon
Found some. I was copying this armoire style but not the gagmeee golden oak stain. I call it "faker" for fake shaker. You can see it in place behind. Eventually that piece was moved in there.

I built the side cabs to take the load and fill the space, craftsman style.
It was all built with the same method of red oak veneer plywood
with trim pieces of oak that I sawed and planed down, and applied with glue and clamps.

I made the face of it in two pieces as I had no access to 64" wide ply, and trimmed it as if it were a pair of doors sans pulls.

My go-to finish is a floor finishing product. https://www.acehardware.com/departm...5VCLxqiVGPQ0JyVMoMhoCKs8QAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

It is water based and odorless, easy to shoot with a cheap HVLP hopper gun from harbor frieght or whatever. In the summer I can knock on several coats and sand between them in a day. It dries fast and very durable.

Another option might be a futon. When folded up it still uses some floor space to act as a sofa, but most are large enough to serve as a full-size double bed when extended.
