Free shipping and lowered prices on some RAM.

I just ordered the ECC 128MB Rev. 2 for $133 (from $161 on Thursday).

Reg. Rev. 2 128MB for $92 and Rev. 3 for $125.

That's enough memory for me for now. This crazy prices drove my cc cards bills up.

Does anyone know the clock cycle time and clock access time for Crucial CL2 ram? I want to make sure that I get ones that match what I currently have in my computer. My Mushkin ram has a CCT of 6.6ns and a CAT of 4.5ns.

I've heard they have excellant CS. ResellerRatings.com has them at 6.7! Mushkin is also very good. RR has them rated at 6.6.

I replaced my old SDRAM with the Rev 1.5 PC133, and I must say.... I am less than impressed. I would trade this stuff for Crucial in a minute.

I benched it against a stick of generic Micron Chip, and the Mushkin was about 2 points better in Sandra. The generic also hit 110fsb no problem, on Asus A7V, the Mushkin doesn't like anything above 107fsb.

The REV 1.5 chip was ordered as a replacement for the crappy Mushkin Budgetram I originally bought. It had PQI chips and was horrible SDRAM,IMHO. They allowed me to replace it with REV 1.5 by paying the difference.

Mushkin does have great CS, but I feel like I overpaid for the same performance.

I can vouch for the Compuwiz1 Infineon. It runs 150 FSB @ 2-2-2 5,7 in my CUSL2 with no problem. It uses the same Infineon chips that Mushkin does and also comes on a 6 layer PCB. For less than 128 mb Rev. 3 you can get 256 mb of Infineon from Compuwiz1. He's running the deal through tonight over in the For Sale / Trade forum.

doesn't kingston use Infineon chips on their sticks? i just swapped out two 128mb pc100 kingston sticks for a 256 pc133 crucial stick, and noticed the kingstons were infineon. kingston sticks currently have rebates on them too i believe.

yeah, crucial rocks... free 2nd air too is nice.

I have 2 Mushkin's rev2 128MB sticks. Will they work well with Crucial's 256MB of RAM or am I expecting lower than expected speed and a significant slowdown?

They will work well. I have yet to see a stick of cas3 crucial that won't run at 133 cas2.

Mushkin is a very good company. I think they are ranked better than outpost even before the free shipping fiasco.

wow, are you people insane? Mushkin makes awesome. I got some budget pc-133 mushkin and compared it to my corsair (crucial) ram it blew it away. Would do 124MHz fsb at cas2 and was about 3% faster.

Mushkin's budget pc133 is even higher price than Crucial's cas2.
Why not get Crucial?

Corsair is not Crucial, though it may use Micron chips sometimes.

Why get them memory from the website when you can go in the for sale/trade and pick some up for like $55-$60? The Musshkin memory is pc133, but is rated at 143. I have mine at 150 right now, and I have heard of people being able to get it up to 160.

My friend has mushkin Rev2 128MB sticks, which use the 7ns mosel chips, at 167 2-2-2 on a CUSL2 (w/ a big fat 120mm PANFLO aimed right at them). Try getting that with Crucial or Infineon (7.5ns) chips...I won't happen on any MB. Mushkin Rev2 is $141 shipped for two 128MB mosel chip sticks...that's not bad.

After a lot of investigation with a few friends and members from Anandtech...I have reached the opinion that mosel chips currently offer the best cas 2 (2-2-2) performance...it seems that "mosel chip" dimms from various sources (mushkin Rev1.5 or Rev2, from jkdude, kdcomputers) perform very evenly.

I had Rev1.5 mushkin running 153 2-2-2 on my KT7-RAID (that's a 115 MHz FSB...which is as fast as a KT chipset boards can go). I upgraded to Rev2 but it performs the same...my MB won't go any faster.

It seems that dimms using Infineon 7.5ns chip max out anywhere from about 140 2-2-2 to as high as 155ish 2-2-2 (mushkin Rev3) depending on the yield of the chips used and the quality of the dimms traces, etc. I don't care to even comment on Crucial.

Mosel 7ns chips are the top performers. Kingmax tingBGA 6ns chip dimms are also up there but don't seem to handle cas2 at 150+ very well; I think the yields aren't really good right now...sort of like the 4ns DDR chips used on the GF2 ultra.

Dimm's using Infineon 7ns (PC143) chips are now surfacing...don't know where these fit into the equation. I'm interested to see how they perform...Jimmygates was selling 256MB sticks of this stuff for around $112 shipped last week. I'm guessing 160 2-2-2 is a good possibility.
