REMEMBER if you are getting a Nvidia motherboard or with a Via chipset that you will get much better memory performance by interleaving 2 modules than just by getting one large module (especially with nvidia motherboard).

For those that are interested, it's 11 bucks for FEDEX 2 day shipping on up to at least 2 modules. They want 95 for a 256 Module by itself so this is a great deal if you like Mushkin.

For those of the Micron persuasion (should always remember that a memory chip being 'micron' does not mean that the PCB is teh same high quality , whereas mushkin can assure that) pricewatch lists micron chip based stuff for about the same and same shipping.

Crucial may be of the same caliber.. just remember that Micron doesn't mean crucial. Crucial is a memory manufacturer division of Micron that makes the modeules themselves, not just the chips. I'm pretty sure this is cheaper than any Crucial deals posted so far. Remember that 2 X 128 is sometimes better than 1 X 256 and 2X64 better than 1X128 if you want to use features of the nvidia boards or via boards.

well i am going to get a DDR board and with ram so damn cheap, i rather just get 2x256 and not 2x128, because 256 isnt enough for me anymore.

that's what i heard too lunotick. crucial has a 256mb pc2100 module for about 60 shipped. so there isn't really that big of a difference.

Not to crap in this thread, but Crucial's 128MB PC2100 DIMM is only $31.49 and has free 2 day shipping. So, 31.49x2=$62.98 for the Crucial (which may be of higher quality than the generic stuff at Mushkin) or 24x2=48+11(shipping)=$59 - it may be wiser to go for the crucial, but of course that's just my opinion.

I think Tom's has a review up already of what you can expect with nforce boards and memory. It definitely will perform better with 2 sticks as it allows interleaving between modules to double your memory bandwidth I believe.
