Does anyone have any comments on Mushkin's latest PC2700? It's 6ns, better than most, and seems to offer pretty aggressive memory timings. Plus I like that it's approved for use with the mobo I plan to buy.

It looks like Corsair now offers PC2700 in a 512 MB stick with even better specifications so that might be the best route.

I just got 2 sticks of the 512Mb Corsair PC 2700 RAM and it's running great @ 340Mhz, CAS2, 2.5V.

$205/ stick from Mwave.

Crucial is 180 for PC2100, CAS2.5
MWave is 205+10 for PC2700, CAS 2 (with heat spreader)

Wow... anyone buy from ocsystem.com? I've heard "OCZ" tossed around a few times, but these look like good prices:
PC2400 CAS 2 for $134 + shipping (with heat spreader!!)
"Samsung" PC2700 CAS 2.5 for $156+
"OCZ Super High Performance" PC2700 CAS 2.5 for $158+ (with heat spreader!!)

It's a yahoo! shopping site... These are all prices for 512mb sticks, 'cause I might want to upgrade later.

I don't plan on overclocking my 1.8a past 150mhz (if I can even get that far) so I think I may just go for the PC2400 for ~150 total. That gives me a ceiling of 150mhz, which is 2.7ghz... right? I should go with the 1.8a over the 1.6a, right?

I would use Kingmax pc2700 memory. It comes with 5ns chips. Only bad thing is they only have 256MB sticks. Hopefully they'll release 512 sticks soon.

<< I should go with the 1.8a over the 1.6a, right? >>

The 1.8As don't oc much more than the 1.6As and have a cost premium. The 1.6As more easily hit a 133 MHz fsb and using the retail hsf.

Corsair and Kingmax seem the best choices but only Corsair offers 512 sticks. Few seem to use Mushkin these days.

I had bad luck with 4 sticks of Kingmax PC2700 5ns that I tried. They all had errors in Memtest 86. Kingmax tech said they were bad sticks and to exchange them. I gave up after 4 sticks. Got the 512Mb Corsair PC2700 sticks that passed all tests with flying colors. Running @ 340Mhz, CAS2, 2.5v right now.
