Mushkin Ram Buy #3

I must agree!! I am a reseller and they are selling that stuff way cheaper on their site then I can get it for myself. I sent the email but I am going to send another and request to hold this order for price verification, if nothing else they should at least sell to me as cheap as I could buy on their website without being a reseller.

I am not sure why the inflexibility on price with me but I did check back with them after they dropped the price toward the end of the week, Thursday I think it was, and my prices remained constant.

I will do the best I can is all I can say to those who have paid me, to the rest the order deadline was today and I don't think I am doing this again until DDR is released at least. This buy was not very successful and I actually did not make the quota on 128 mg sticks to get the price I had secured, therefore it isn't working out too well for me.

Ok guy's I just sent an email to the reseller contact at Mushkin and hope that I get a reply in the AM. If they will not at least give me the price they have posted on the web site then I will cancel the buy, refund your money and not bother any of you with this again. I feel like this is not a very good deal for you if they are not able to keep their reseller pricing inline with their web pricing. I am sorry to those of you who have paid and thought you were getting a good deal but I am not trying to make money on these, just get my own sticks at a discount and not take a loss on the other sticks. As people who have bought from me know I usually include a copy of the receipt with your orders and my cost on >10 256Mg sticks of REV 2 is currently 369.00 which is almost 20 dollars more per stick then Joe Blow could go buy 5 2packs for. I hope you all don't revolt and demand your money back until I hear back from them, I just wanted to let everyone know what is going on.

I was in the last buy of Mushkin ram and djohn is one of the best guys I have ever bought something from.

I was astounded that he included his actual receipt for the ram in the package.

How many other people with their deals on stuff tell you their actual cost?

Anyway, I'm sure djohn is doing everything he can to get a better price and if not, then Mushkin is not as great a company as I thought it was.

The buy is still on and I have ordered a few extra sticks if people need to get in that haven't yet. They just need to get the money paypalled to me as soon as they can. I did get a little price drop on the 256Mg sticks but the 128 sticks hold steady at 175 shipped. The 256Mg sticks are going to be 360 shipped. To the people who sent me the original price on the 256's I will refund your money sometime soon. I really need to get a bit more of this sold guy's because I ordered extra. It should be shipped to you in another day or two so if you didn't get in on this then jump onboard now.

Yeah I think I got it and I think I replied, it is hard for me to keep track of RL names vs. Nicks though. You guys need to remember that in correspondence. If I didn't reply send it again and flag it important, I get allot of email daily, check it on multiple systems throughout the day and sometimes I do miss them if I don't reply to them the first time.

This is an update for those who suggested getting the ram froma distibuter to bypass mushkin and get a better deal. WEll the deal whould definatly be better. I contacted mosel vitelic and thier price for the same ram as the mushkin rev 2 (128 megs) is about $100 US. The only ctach is you have to order from mosel directly (they don't sell ram modules to distributors) and you have to buy 200-300 a month. Basically guys it ain't gonna happen.

So i would say stick to Djohn as he offers the best deal i have found so far.

Hey HanPan, I didn't get the time to check into the mosel direct buying but I know we will not be able to make those kind of volumes. I do appreciate your efforts in that and clarifying the status and possibility of buying direct. If I could afford it though I would buy 200 sticks and just sell it out. I guess if there are a few other guys that wanted to pool together and buy it at that price then we could raise the price a bit, provide everyone with great deals and still make a little money to pay the interest.

you would be Surprised how many people who jump on a deal like that if you can get us some rev 2 for about $105-110 shipped!!! Seriously though, I doubt they mean you are OBLIGATED to a monthly buy basis, I think they simply mean that you can order in 200-300 quantities at a time. DJohn, can you look into this as I would be interested in such a price as I didn't bite at $175 this time. Let us know!

Great plan guys! For $110 the whole anandtech community is interested . Djohn, it would be great if you can arrange something like that together with some other traders.
Can you imagine what will happen when Mushkin starts offering DDR ram??

I will check into it when I get some spare time, I can say right now that I will have to make some profit on it if I am going to invest 20G in memory to get it at that low price. But it would still be at a great price. On the other hand I also want to check out warranty issues and things like that because I do not want to be liable for warranty of memory. That could be the reason that Mushkin marks up their prices so much. I am not unhappy with their prices or service and that means something to me, it is higher but you get what you pay for with an easy replacement plan for warranty and things like that.

I too must commend Djohn. I haven't bought from him (sucks to be canadain) but it took me 3 hours just to find someone to talk too at moesl. Djohn has spent countles hours more and has made hardly a penny. That plus great shiping rates and service etc plus the fact that Djohn is heavily respected at [h]ard|ocp (he's a mod there) makes him one hell of a guy to buy form. I seriously doubt you guys will find a better deal unless of course someone has got some serious cash lying around (20-30 G's). Either way as a [h]ardocper and a member of this forum i have seen what djohn has done and can tell you your not gonna find a nicer guy.

Yeah I agree with hanpan. So far doing business with djohn has been admirable, although I haven't gotten my ram yet, but that's understandable. For people who are looking to buy Mushkin ram, do this group buy and it will save you some $$$.

Well thank you guys, actually this buy is about wrapped up as far as sales goes. I have just two sticks of 128 still available and one of them might be gone. But there is one guy interested in one of those. I will probably start another ram buy around the end of the month. I hope to have the memory here today and out tomorrow but it hasn't gotten here yet just to give you guys a status report.

I honestly can't tell you if I did or not, Nicks and RL Names actually cause me quite a problem. I try to answer everyone but know I don't get it done all the time. I actually am waiting on payment from a few people so I may or may not have extra sticks at the moment, but if we get a few more people interested in the 128's I may already have enough to make another small order. I will certainly get it for you but I do have to say that the price may be coming down more if we can get another large buy like the last time. I think I will try to get ahold of the other guy that gave me allot of referrals and see if his group is ready for another buy. Then we can go another round pretty quickly.

BTW the memory did not get here today but I got a email yesterday that said I should be getting the tracking number, unless I overlooked it I haven't got it yet, just a shipping confirmation but no tracking number.
