there are some good cover songs, but IMO, for a cover song to be good, it needs to bring something new to the song other than new vocals.

cross-gender covers are usually good, and I loved Johnny Cash's cover of "Hurt," because he turned a rockish song into a slow, sad, country song.

I'm sorry, the correct answer is "Another Brick in the Wall" as "performed" by Korn. Your answer was considered, but could not compete.

Oh, come on! As much as I love PF, Korn's version was a decent compliment. It obviously does not surpass the original, but I don't think that's what they were trying to do.

Now, I will agree that their version of Metallica's "One" was pretty bad..

agreed. when i first heard that i wanted to puke my guts out.

"butchered and raped" just doesn't seem sufficiently harsh enough. But I'm at a loss for words: Is there anything worse than "butchered and raped?"

Can't go the Live and let die thing...very good, but not necessarily better.
