And don't tell me that the Koran doesn't say this or that about violence, so it's just the people, not the religion. A religion is what it's followers believe it to be. And if a religion is so subject to misinterpretation that its followers can justify killing innocents and burning down property, then that's the religion's fault.

Frankly, if a nice set of cartoons depicting Jesus in various unflattering ways appeared in major American newspapers, I wouldn't be at all surprised if large numbers of Christian true-belivers engaged in violent protests. That ought to tell you something.

Jesus was put in urine and Mary was put in dung. It has happened before. Christians in America complained a little bit but that was it. It wasn't in a newspaper, but even if it was, what makes you think they would get violent? Recent history has shown christians to be nonviolent.

Actually...if you read the quran (as I am in the process of) kill infidels would indeed go to kill that lawyer. though, christians can use that excuse to kill muslims by the bibles "kill people who try to lead you to another god"

But do we? No, don't compare Christians to Muslims. I can respect anyone's beiefs, as long as they don't try to kill me for them. We Christians have long been made fun of, people take my God's name in vain all the time, everywhere. But do I bomb people, start riots, shoot people for it? I kind of agree with you, but too many people think that all religions are the same.

Do most muslims bomb people shoot people ect? Of course not, but it seems fair to make sweeping generalizations like that.

Christian, Judasim(Zionism), muslim all worship the same god, it is the prophets they disagree with. So in essence they are the same, in both the bible and the quran the death penalty is a valid form of punishment. So as you said, do most chritians do that? No, do most muslims? No they do not either.

No we do not worship the same God. Oh, and the death penalty is a great punishment for those few people out there who kill, rape, murder, bomb, plunder... I agree with it. Did you know that the reason that we have such a high crime rate is because our penalties are lax, when they are given at all? Places where they cut off your hand if you steal, or hang you if you murder, see less of those things. If the price is too high, most people won't pay it. But our price for almost anything is, at best, in most cases, under ten years in prison. And there are differences between the Bible and the Quran. Like big ones. Have you ever read either?

EDIT: Most Christians believe in the Trinity and in God the Son. I'm sure that you are going out of your area of expertise.

Somebody light a fire and detonated a bomb. Do you blame the guy or do you blame the bomb.

Person 1 insulted person 2. Person 2 fire bombed person 1's house. Do you arrest person 1 or person 2?

The very fact that you can ask this question qualifies you unfit to live in the West.

It was a question to answer rchiu's question. I'd call you a moron but I think you're misguided.

At the very least person 2 owes person 1 for damages.

No problem, I can see from your posts that you prefer freedom of speech over having our rights limited by religion by some crazy fanatics who think they're more special than everyone else.

Iran can say another country should be "wiped off the face of the Earth" and deny that 6 million Jews were killed by the Nazis, but draw an accurate cartoon, and people are gonna die. It's beyond absurd.

Heh, that depends on where you live and what kinda insult was that. I know y'all lived here all your live and probably can't imaging anything otherwise. But that doesn't mean stuff like that doesn't exist. Hey, even in the USA back in the cowboy era, you'd get shot for insulting someone.

And, in your opinion, was it

A. Correct that someone would shoot someone else for an insult

B. Wrong for someone to shoot someone else for an insult

You seem to be arguing for A.

Then just extend that to what those cowboys would do to a person who would try and steal their Freedom from them.

Well, obviously, they were correct to kill him because he offended them. At least according to "logic" employed by many on this forum. Bizarre thinking at its finest, IMO.

Not just some cartoons...but cartoons that insult somebody's imaginary friend. Its even worse than you thought.

You can't prove that Islam wasn't the cause of the shooting either. You pick your poison and I'll pick mine.[/quote]

It dosent really matter if it was or wasn't, my point was to show that it is wrong to judge a religon based on the actions of its people.

Not trying to start a flamewar here, but merely trying to stop the negative view that the religon of Islam has gotten. Even the scriptures of the bible can be interpreted in a certain way. It would be wrong to judge Christianity based on the actions of the extreme-conservatives. The religon is still a pure and good one.

btw I'm not muslim.

Muslims got this "negative" rap because of the way they fvcking act. Its ok to cut off a head on TV and fill your press with Jew-hatin' filth, but don't draw a cartoon about my imaginary friend! And even if "Christians are fanatics too", at least their militants just tell me that Katrina was divine punishment and the purple Teletubby is gay. Thats alot less harmful than televised beheadings.

If Islam is really a "religion of peace" like I keep hearing, then why aren't any of its followers actually peaceful? Instead they're violent, oppressive, and intolerant, so let's be honest; its 2006...their religion is either completely ridiculous, or they've twisted it beyond recognition. Either way, they're rapidly becoming World Enemy #1.

Prejudice=Pre-judging. I am not "pre-judging" these people. I am simply JUDGING them based on their own words and actions. If they think I, and some Danish cartoonist, should have a different view of them and their religion, then maybe they should start acting like rational human beings.

China editor 'died after beating'

What say you rchiu?

A Chinese editor has died as a result of a police beating he received for his paper's reporting on corruption, journalists and rights groups say.

I'd say the guy is a hero for fighting for freedom of speech. It's great that the local people are fighting to be civilized instead of some "Western" people trying to impose their view on us.

The muslim extremist shows his true colors . Now we're imposing our views on them! Not them, who burn embassies to the ground and declare war for a picture about their imaginary friend.

Hehe, if you want to equate reporting truth about police corruption and drawning cartoon inferring the entire 1.2 billion people are bomb carrying terrorist, then hey I guess you are right I don't know what the heck I am talking about.

See, there you go. Prove to me that the cartoons infered that 1.2 billion people are bomb carrying terrorists. You can't, your just making things up as you go along.

I guess the truth that there are Muslims with bombs willing to kill innocents hurts??
