Must play crysis level

Truly an epic, at parts you feel as though your are playing the fabulous John Mcain vietnam adventures. Epic voice acting.

It is a cross between, the predator, commando, John Mcains epic adventures, rambo, crimson tide, hunt for the red october, das boot, Indiana Jones and the temple of doom, and stealth.
It is pratically a campaign in itself, with several hours of gameplay, and framerates that make you feel like John Mcain himself.

Imagine what kind of vietnam jungle you could create with the Crysis engine. I remember a HL mod that was a vietnam fps, ... really good game but never took off

wow 125mb, awesome, I've been playing a lot of Crysis lately, the modding community is excellent, the whole game is outstanding, there are way too many people thinking that just because it has good graphics that it means it must have crummy gameplay.

While I was waiting for Castaway to download I got the Physis III map and boy it's awesome, also a must-have.

Didn't get to play much of Castaway because I wanted to play more Physis III but it was okay, that Zach Spark guy or whatever his name was had kind of dull voice acting but not out of place at least.

Downloading... I've been playing a bit of Crysis recently with my new card, but I'm getting bored of the campaign.

I must be getting old or my controls are misconfigured, I really didn't like the gameplay and uninstalled Crysis after 40 minutes of playing.
I think I'll give it a second chance and try this level as well.

BTW...whats up with the massive migration of crabs on the beach? Someone in Crytek has a crab fetish?

dude, this is a pretty darn well made custom map if done by non-professionals... I am getting like 2 hours of gameplay out of this. I hope Warhead can do better.

I was hoping for a Youtube video maybe showing some of the gameplay. Would you guys who have played this sort of place it along the same lines as the Minerva levels for HL2?

I've been playing Crysis recently since I got my 4870! I think I'm going to get this and some other mods and levels, once I get my config tweaked a little more. What a game... even with a 4870, CCC at level 5 is a little too choppy to play all parts of the campaign at 1680x1050.

i just spent half a fuckin day reinstalling Crysis and patchin it upto 1.2, then played Castaway for 5mins before i remembered how wank Crysis really is, its just a dumb shooter with no class and aimless shooting, it requires as much skill as a skidmark.

After having nothing to do and being compltly bored i tried the "Castaway" Mod again and this time i am enjoying it, its 10x better than the original Crysis which i might add i still think was pants. im now an hour into this mod and i feel i must make an apology sooo here goes.

caution......when you board the sub and have to make your way to the front there is a room with a button that you must push to gain entry to destroy the nuclear rods, there are also several soldiers inside...DO NOT throw a flash bang in there.....for some reason if you do you are unable to push that button.

The only way to fix this is reload your last save point and just shoot to kill.

just pointing this out to save some headache.....gotta say I enjoyed this more than the original game also.

Ok, I tried this map and got stuck in the beginning. I found the cave entrance, went through a tunnel and got to a place where there is water filling up the cave floor. I went into the water but cannot seem to find a way out.

And BTW it is dark as fuck here and that makes it all the more frustrating.

Any help is appreciated. I'm sure its something simple I am missing.

yes, the cave is a tad bit frustrating, but use your pistol + flash addon. At the 1st split i chose left, and then left and then left... eventually I ran into a dead end with water; back tracked, and you will get to the end.

Well, tried that. Still cannot find a way out of the cave. Every time I think I have "seen the light," it turns out to be the light at the beginning where I started.

There was one spot where a voice came up and said "losing energy," and when my health went all the way down, the screen went black and nothing. Had to restart, as in reload previous save.

- I found a few bugs where I had to restart a level to get things to work. eg. drs to open that sort of thing maybe your missed something before the cave.

-in the complex's lower level trying to get to the sub pen , I spent about 10hrs trying to get pass the big metal grate after the voice told me to find a way in , only to find I had missed a level where everything was taking place ..
-but over all I can't believe someone whipped this up, lots of detail and game play , I did notice in the credits , a thanks to Intel which was interesting.
