I got my new Logitech MX-1000 laser mouse today fully charged from and ready to go from CompUSA. My old Gateway LED optical mouse that came with my PC was always confused by the wood grain on my desk. With the MX-1000 I got rid of my mouse pad and the cursor moves effortlessly across the screen, even with rapid motion. The cruise buttons are nice but the on off button underneath could be marked better as to which position is off and which is on. Scrolling is smooth, I like this mouse.

This mouse may be the best mouse overrall, for general purpose etc. But for gaming, the MX510 is the best mouse. Ever.

Every semi second counts when you play fast paced FPS's, and while Im sure the MX1000 has about the same specs as the MX510, the corder mouse is better suited for it. INHO, of course.

I've never had any problems in gaming and I have a cheapo cordless optical mouse that cost about £20 (~$35).

Cordless technology is advancing all the time and lag is a thing of the past....

The only problem I've ever had was with an IR optical cordless..... you had to be in line of sight with the reciever but with radio signals there are no such problems!

I agree. I've been using the MX700 since it came out. I've never noticed any lag while gaming... it died on me once because I forgot to charge the battery for a couple days in a row, but that was my own fault. once I got into the habit of dropping it onto the cradle whenever I leave my computer, I never had a battery issue again.

I've been using the microsoft intel pro mouse for a couple of years now. It's corded but I've never had any problems. How does the new laser mouse compare to that? And how much is it?

I've used MS mice before and found that almost all logitech mice offer much better response and ergonomics for me, I'm using an MX700 at the moment and I couldn't possibly go back to an ordinary mouse.

I love my MX1000 mounse. The LED indicator is nice thing to have. I have not notice anydifference between the mx500 and mx1000 as far as lag is concerned. it just works
