Go with monarch on the x800 XL PCI-E. Connect 3D makes alot of ATI video cads. No tax either (if you don't live in georgia). The agp deal is however hot. I would still go with the 6800GT AGP though, since it can oc to ultra levels while the xl has very little oc headroom. If you want to play at stock speeds however, the xl is a great deal.

They might PM it for you. But some stores make you "return" it and repurchase it. That void's the mail-in rebate and you have to resend in the rebate. Other stores will just credit you the difference.

Also what other stores carry this card in agp maybe I can get a price match to lessen the tax blow.

6800gt has broken video functions however, plus the x800xl makes less heat and noise and requires less power.

Ya, I had the AGP 6800GT untill I moved to PCIe. I now have the x800xl and wouldnt go back to the 6800gt. No way. The x800xl is very quiet and runs much cooler compared to the 6800GT. Absolutly no need for an aftermarket cooler even if overclocked.

Plus the x800xl smokes the 6800gt in halflife 2.

Who cares about Doom3. Doom3 sucks.

That was a one driver related issue and has been fixed with the 77.76. Stop spreading your fanboy-ism.

Wrong. WMV encoding acceleration still does not work. The PvP for the 6800GT, 6800U, and 6800NU(except PCI-e non ultra) is broken and will always be broken.

First, you'll have to find a manager or associate to do it for you. Hopefully they won't remember that there was a $20 easy rebate. They usually factor that into the final price, meaning that since after rebate their price is lower, no PM even though it's a rebate.

Also, if they do the PM for you it will require a return which means that the return will go through their system thus invalidating the rebate you submitted. You'll get an email stating so if you provided them with one when you submitted the easy rebate.

Had this happen to me in the past with a PM for a fax machine. Not sure if it would invalidate the rebate if you mailed it in though.

Well Circuit City looks to carry the X800XL, there price being $270 after $30 MIR. If your really lucky I wonder if you can get them to PM and the still use the MIR.

EDIT: Looks like CompUSA is also running this sale, they have the X800XL for $250 no MIR's. Maybe this is a general price drop with the expected launch of the new line.
