So tempted to get the 800XL AGP but from the pictures it's probably the longest AGP card I have ever seen! About as long or longer than my 5700 Ultra card.

That's the problem, I had a lot of trouble fitting the 5700 ultra in my case. I had to move the HD out of the way.

If you could pull off a PM to CC's before-rebate price, you could land the AGP card for $219.99 after $30 rebate.

If you have a Best Buy 10% off coupon (recently snail-mailed), $225 out the door for the AGP, or $251 for the PCI-e.

CompUSA also has the PCI-e version for $259.99

All sorts of possibilities.

Just price matched my mx1000 to best buy who has it for 49.99
At first, the manager kept saying they will price match but doing so would void my rebate. After arguing with the asshole for 10 minutes about their pricematch policy, he did a full return, and resold the mouse to me for 29.99 because the rebate would not go through.
The rebate was already sent in so hopefully I'll still get the $20.00 but if not, it's still a good deal @ 29.99

The LEGENDARY card! This card in the video was the stuff dreams were made of back in 1999.

You have to see it to believe it. Check out the video. It was very expensive and extremely rare. It was the first card that required external power, everyone back then though that was crazy....funny, look at highend cards today..lol

It was priced at $232 on the yellow tag. Don't know why. Rang up that way when I bought it too!

Got my X800XL AGP for $219

I went to the local Best Buy and they had it marked on the shelf at $232.99! (The sales flyer did show $249 after instant rebate) But as usual BB did not have any on the shelf., I checked with the salesclerk and they had 1 listed in stock in the computer, but could not find it. (My guess some employee had it socked away to purchase after work)

So I went to Circuit City and they priced matched with BB internet price of $249 and I got Circuit City's $30 rebate, grand total X800XL AGP for $219, screw you Best Buy!.

It's a pretty long card, longer than the X800 Pro or 9700 Pro I have here on the shelf for reference purposes

The vid card rang up at $232 for me as well. Definitely a great deal for the price. Also has video in/video out to sweeten it up a bit.

You really have no choice if you want one of the newer cards though...I had to move around the hard drives I own just to get my Geforce 6800 card into the AGP slot when I first bought it, and it's not like I had a small case either (I have one of thoes Antec/Ultra/whatever type cases).

I had no trouble putting it into that $140 after rebtae Compaq I just bought though, but that's probably because it's a pretty empty case =p

If you have a lotta hard drives and such around where your AGP slot is you might have problems with ANY of the newer cards =(

doubt they would have stashed it away. BB has employee accomodation with ATI that makes the card cheaper than that...

Seeing as how the AGP card market is drying up pretty quickly, I'd jump on this one sooner than later. Nvidia is really scaling back their AGP plans for their next-gen cards and I'd imagine ATI will do the same---look at how long they had a gap after the X800 Pro & XT releases before they got anything else out that was AGP-based.
