I like my MX1000..wasn't a big fan of the weight at first, but I prefer it over a light mouse now.

huh? it seems cheap because it weighs less? Who cares what it seems like. I really don't know how you come to the conclusion that more weight gives you more control and precision...

just feels like it does

can't explain it really...like a car door closing with a solid 'thunk' makes it feel a lot better quality than one that has a tinny 'clunk'....

I went from using an MX500 to the MX1000 and I will never go back to corded mice. I think I've only had to recharge my batteries maybe 5 or 6 times in the past 3 months and I just did that when I was asleep.

I used the mx1000 for a few days and I sent it back and bought an mx510 (wish I had the 518 now) What I found to be a problem is when you lift up the mouse to move it over sometimes it would jump around. Hard to explain but it was messing up my FPS game play.

edit: and I have no use for a wireless mouse. Cord clip FTW!

Try an MX510 - you won't notice the difference in tracking over an MX518 (the MX10 already has a tricked out sensor), and its.... cheaper.

Cheaper is always good.

<-- happy owner of a blue MX510

Mine hasn't done that. What mousing surfase do you use? I have a 1030.

Love my MX1000.

There are a couple of new mice you might look out/wait for. Both are laser mice that feature an upgraded sensor (2000dpi versus the MX1000's 1600dpi I believe). One is a wired version that features adjustable weight balancing (add or remove small weights). Has a strange copperish and silver look to it with black rubber grip (like the MX5xx series in look and shape). The other is a wireless version of that mouse that has removable rechargable batteries (you get 2 with the mouse so one can be charged while you use the other). This one is kinda fugly, as it has a green/blue tint for the grip. Oh, and both feature adjustable sensitivity that don't require drivers to make use of (whereas the MX518 does need drivers I believe), and also for some reason they lost one of the side buttons (only has one on the left hand side, don't know if they might have moved the other to the right hand side).

I have the same. I use a pretty low sensitivity for FPS like CS:S. I noticed it did not happen all the time but it was enough to piss me off...

I picked up the MX518 a couple of days ago and love it for gaming. The ability to change the sensitivity on the fly is incredible for FPS games (I set it for 400 when using a scope and 1200 when using an automatic).
