Try an MX510 - you won't notice the difference in tracking over an MX518 (the MX10 already has a tricked out sensor), and its.... cheaper.
Cheaper is always good.
<-- happy owner of a blue MX510

Do you hold the MX1000 differently from the 518? I just got a 518 from Newegg and I don't like the way you have to put your ring finger on top. With my old MS 4.0 the only two fingers on top were the index and middle, and the others fell to the side. Is that how the MX1000 is?

No, the mx1000 is very ergononomic (however you spell that) And feels great. Go to your local ComUSA, FRY's, Or circuit city to feel them out.
THe mx1000 is perfect for me

Fry's doesn't have the MX1000 :|
I guess I'll go to CompUSA sometime.
What is Newegg's return policy? Their site only has an RMA policy, and doesn't say how long you have for that either.

I'm a very high-sense player. I'm almost always looking around and moving the mouse. I couldn't deal with a heavy mouse. I like to be able to whip out a headshot with an lg in a fraction of a second. It only makes sense to preserve the natural movements of your hand that the mouse should be light. It also helps for less friction when going from 0 movement to a sudden jerk in movement, or more importantly, a gentle movement to align a zoomed shot.

I think that is a problem with different people. I can almost score always in the top 5 for the ranked 64 player serevers in bf2 with my mx1000.

Wow, when did Logitech come out with these cool Gx gaming mice? Still, 2.4ghz sucks for range compared to bluetooth, I've had both. Not that you really need range for using a PC...
