i know the mx700 is a pretty top-o-the-line wireless mouse, but i had a shittier wireless mouse (some walmart offbrand) and it skipped like woah! so is the mx700 good? im mainly talking about playing counter strike with a 640x480 resolution. thanks in advance for the input!

I have no problem with it playing BF1942, BFV, AA, and various mods to the listed. Works great.

I used the mx700 and it was great for those games. I now have an MX1000 and I love it. It is so responsive and comfortable, too.

MX700 is not the best for gaming!
The weight of this mouse is very uncomfortable, and the batts could go low during game!
I use an MX510 on Icemat black 2nd ed IMHO a very nice gaming set!

i had the mx700 for about a year and half now. there's some considerations

1. The camera & led are not in the middle of the mouse like any corded mouse, this will lead to a problem if you're a high sens player (i.e using your wrist more often instead of your arm to move the mouse). If you aren't used to it, the cursor will go above (like a parabolic graphic) if you move the cursor to right, and go down if you move the cursor to left, instead of forming a straight line. This got me dizzy for the first time i used it to play CS, because the direction i move the mouse is not giving me the direction i want it to be, but you'll get used to it eventually (if you haven't so)

2. The mouse is very responsive for a cordless mouse, BUT it is not as sensitive as it's sibling mx500, because i already compared both and there's a slight delay in it.

3. If you are a low sens player you can't move this mouse too fast. For example if you want to move 25 cm as fast as your hand might able to do it, the mx700 will get 'dizzy' (i.e cursors moving in wrong direction), for comparison, mx500 can handle the test, no wrong cursor direction whatsoever. For a low sens player its a problem if u got someone surprise you form the back

4. after a year the left click gets somehow broken although not fully, i mean if i press with the same force (just a usual force) just like when it was new, it gives me double click (?), i must give more force to press in order to make the mouse's left click behaves correctly. for the record i browse a lot in a year and play a moderate amount of CS

but then again i believe my mx700 is the first batch of production, because i bought it on around february / january 2003, so maybe later batch is better. YMMV

I've had my MX700 for nearly a year now and I love it. I've had my friends complain that it "lags", but they are talking about when you move the mouse coming out of the battery saving mode, which is nornal for any wireless mouse...but they somehow can't understand that there needs to be some sort of "sleep" or power saving mode for when the mouse is not in use. I play UT2004, BF1942/vietnam, CS, etc.. The weight of the mouse is also pretty nice after you get used to it, now my any corded simple style mouse seems way to flimsy to me. Battery life, I have never had mine go dead on me and I have been to multiple 36 hour LAN parties where I, nor the mouse had no rest or down time. In fact, I have only seen the battery low warning blink 1 time, so I would have to say the battery life is excellent.

Edit: I use the XTrac PRO mousepad and I love it. I have tried all the XTrac mousepads along with all other comparable "gaming pads" and XTrac definitely makes the highest quality pads I have ever used! If you have never used one, give 'em a try as they are very cheap compared to the others, I believe SVC has a bunch of their pads for sale...peace out

I tried the MX700 and it performed great in games but was too heavy for my tastes.

I agree.

MX500 user here - I hate wireless. Nothing sucks more than having your mouse die in the middle of a fragfest, not to mention the price difference. $30+ dollars more for an MX700 and the only thing I get is wireless? Nah.

I say MX500/MX510. The 700 is kind of useless now that the 1000 is out. 510 for top of the line wired, 1000 for top of the line wireless.

My MX700 goes for 7-10 hours at a time easy. How hard is it to charge it every night?

More hassle than it takes plug a cord in ONCE.

What, are you really sitting that far from your monitor that a wire is a hindrance?
