I got a set of 650 myself. Which amp(s) do you drive your 650 with? They don't make them anymore, but I use a Gilmore V2 to drive the big cans in my collection.

I'm not sure what people say about them, but the reality is they are perfectly find for a bass-forward can. The problem is they cost way too much for their performance. There are far better performing options for the money.

If they cost half that ($100 - ~$150), they would be great choices.

Sony, Skullcandy, and a few others have headphones at similar prices, and they don't sound nearly as good (Also, factor in a high resell value and street cred, the fact the cord is detachable, it comes with a mic cord and a standard cord, and they're actually not a bad buy.

Sony has X series noise cancelling headphones for $249, and they're terrible. Feels like wearing a vice on your head and the bass is pathetic.

As much as how Beats are overpriced headphones, I dont think anyone outside of techies or audiophiles know that. Given the fact that most people before Beats were personally fine with stock ipod earbuds, Dr. Dre actually got designer/higher end headphones to be popular.

I always hated having friends that had all the latest gadgets, it seemed like their parents bought them everything. I was lucky if I got 2 things off of my Christmas list.

Back when everyone was getting their first cellphones, my mom was still giving me quarters to use payphones or told me to go to the office if I needed to call. I was 15 when I got my first cellphone....everyone else was on their second or third.

Back then it was the Motorola Razr that was hot and everyone had one. I had some shitty non-flip phone.
