How about you be an actual parent, and say no. And that's it.
Or this.
How about you be an actual parent, and say no. And that's it.
I got a set of 650 myself. Which amp(s) do you drive your 650 with? They don't make them anymore, but I use a Gilmore V2 to drive the big cans in my collection.
Sorry OP, but from your previous posts I assumed you were like 21, alone, and working some dead-end job. I had no ideal that you had found the time to discover women. Who would have figured?

Shit, I was almost 20 when I got my first cell phone.
He already has some decent entry level Sennheisers but all his friends talk about Beatz. I will not waste money on them so I am wondering how are the knock off's in comparison? does anyone here have a set?
So explain to him that the quality just isnt there and that there are better headphones for the price.
Oh and also to stop being a lemming and blindly following his friends would also be a good idea.
Parenting fail.
So you are going to get him fakes and hope he does not notice... so you are the good guy.... be a man and say no. Period end of story.
I have tested several and when it comes to music, especially those who like clear bass, beatz is at the top of the food chain. They are not so good for watching like netflix or movies though. When I broke my beats earbuds, I tried several. I can safely say that Monster's Ncredibles are really good and I kept them. Very good bass and nice clarity, very nice clarity, resonable, $60 dollars. But if its music, want the best, its beatz, they are really that good.
I suppose you could look at it like the whole Santa Clause fantasy. However, in the Santa Clause fantasy, every kid pretty much figures it out down the line, whereas in the American label whore fantasy, some people never figure it out. I suppose you'd want to make sure you break the news to him eventually so the kid can grow up to be a respectable, functional adult.LOL, you can always tell the ones that don't have kids.
When you get a son in school, let me know how that advice flies.
Beatz headphones just aren't accurate. They're intentionally voiced very bass heavy, made to look nice, and marketed strongly/well at their intended demographic. I'm not saying they're "wrong" or "bad", since ultimately it's all Product. But they're a poor choice for anyone who values correct frequency response, transparency, and proper soundstaging.
I don't know about all that. But I do know this, I have tried Senns, Bose, Sony, V-Moda, Skulls, and many others. I bet I have listened to at least a 15-20 sets of headphones in the last 3 months. Whether they are correct or not, the clarity of music from them was better than them all. Period. Whatever they do to give that rich clear bass is not matched by others. Rock music through them is like a god send. Like I said, they were not bad for movies, but not exceptional, but for music, they are smoking.
I never said people didn't like them. Just that they were voiced bass heavy, and as a consequence aren't accurate. The fact of the matter is (most?) People don't care about correct, as long as it's loud and has a lot of Bass. Beatz delivers that.
i was 22 & a Senior in College

In terms of sound performance, they are among the worst you can buy, says Tyll Hertsens, editor in chief of InnerFidelity.com, a site for audiophiles. They are absolutely, extraordinarily bad.
OP, don't be a pussy. Explain to your dumb 11 year old that beats are terrible headphones with good marketing. If he wants to waste money on gimmicky shit, he can scrape together the money himself.
LOL, you don't know anything about audio, but you like them. Just because you've tried a bunch of headphones doesn't mean your opinion is worth a crap.
