My 1st Time To OC..................

I have an E6300 paired with Gigabyte GA-965P-S3 & Corsair Value Select DDR2 512mb....

The highest stable OC I could get is up to 2.31Ghz only............

Is this normal for a Value Memory????????????

I am planning on changing to Geil, will they OC more than Corsair VS has to offer????
I've read articles regarding Geil's Value Series, it states that they're good OC'ers.......

Any Geil Value Series users out there????????????????

Be careful, don't push your processor too much you might damage it!

Try bumping up the vdimm a bit (I've pushed it up to 2.1v [+0.3]).

Really all I've done is manually keyed in the values for my ram at 5-5-5-15, changed the FSB to 400, and memory multi to 2 (1:1), and bumped the vDimm up.

With one stick of 1Gb of my Kingston Value Ram DDR2-667 Cas5 I got up to 450FSB/DDR2-900 (3.15Ghz), but since I installed my other 1GB stick, it kept freezing, so I just lowered it to 400FSB/DDR2-800 (2.8Ghz).

Still, a ~1Ghz o/c aint bad without too much hassle

Best memory timings from the article:

DDR2-800: 4-3-3-8 @ 2.2v

I don't think you'll need to bump up the cpu voltage, as I didn't at 450Mhz FSB, and obviously not at 400Mhz FSB.

I have Corsair VS and can do 700Mhz 4-4-4-15 (possible better) with 2.1v
Just lower the ram speed.
