My 2.53 OCed 3500+ has higher temps since the install of a BFG 6800u, and also my volts fluctuate to much in CPU-Z

This is the scenario, built my new rig a couple of months back and left everthing stock... then i went to OC which was the original intention anyway... i was able to hit 2.53 prime stable.. which i was loving since this was a 0451... i found that i had to set the CPU volts to 1.55 which was the highest that i could go in the BIOS... when i looked at CPU-z it was like 1.47 WTF... this is way off what it should be (1.55 that is) .. Oh well so i have to set a percentage on the volts .. so i did i sent it to 1.5 volts and 8.3% (by the way im using an MSI K8N neo2 plat)...

I have now got a stable OC of 2.53 with crap mem timings (oh well thats another issue), the volts fluctuate between 1.524 to 1.604, but mainly stay at 1.568 or 1.584, oh well thats cool, my temps where 35/36degrees idle and 48/49 absolute load so that was exceptable.. but since i have stuck my BFG 6800 Ultra OC in (when i haven't OCed it further), my temps when i boot up are ideling ok but when i play a game it shoots upto about 51 which is still ok, but then when i come out of the game i get the temps droping but they stay at about 45 degrees idel after that and does not drop, even if i switch user and the MBM5 re-initiates it still states the same temps, even speed fan does. ... what is that all about... and also i find that my temps still fluctuate but have different readings from the norm still within .5 volts tho..

o and i am using AS5.


any suggestions this is really bugging me ... why can things just WOOOOOORRRKK !!!!!!!!

I think it is a problem with the K8N neo 2 and winchesters. My vcore fluctuates also (not that much though). I use 1,55V+8,3% to get 1,57-1,60V.

EDIT: If I set it to 1,55V+10% I get 1,65-1,68V. Is very hard to set voltages right in this mobo. also 1.5+10% also gets to 1,65-1,68V, and so does 1,475+%10. Must be e BIOS issue. Using official 1.5 right now, but the same thing happened with 1.51 modded.

Yeah fluctuating vcore is a know "feature" of neo2.

Temp readings are very bad also XD
I mean--> first boot: Vcore is 0,2-0,3V higher than when I reboot, temps are around 5-6ºC hotter.
Reboot--> Vcore is 0,2-0,3V lower than on first boot, temps are around 5-6ºC lower...

so do you reckon that it is ok to just leave it, and just make sure it dosen't go over like 60 degrees, is it just a bad reading from the mobo (crappy diode), or is this an actuall authentic reading?

thanks for you your input so far glad to know other people are experiencing the same prob, and that i dont have faulty hardware...

I have just installed a thermal sensor, but I think I've done it badly, it reads 29-30ºC while idling and 36-37ºC@ full load watercooled. MoBo sensor has 37/52ºC LOL, that's huge. I think you are more than OK if you are under 60ºC in this MoBo with the Winnie

EDIT: Now idle is 27,8ºC in the sensor
