My 5670 is heating much for some games

my 5670 is in normal temperature of 50-55 celsius(for gaming) but for games like Sniper Elite v2 which is even older, but heating upto 80 celsius.


What to do? how much is safe temperature for 5670?

you dont even meet minimum requirements for that game so your gpu is pegged the whole time. and 50-55 c would be insanely low for gpu under load.

For alot of these cards its around 105c.

However I dont recammend you keep it running at above 90c.
Being around 80 degree celcius is fine.

If its overclocked you can try and lower your overclock abit.
If its not overclocked, or only just a tiny bit, you can try undervolting it.
(best not to do this if you dont know what your doing though)

Again make sure air flow / circulation is good inside the cabinet, and clean the fan/heat sink for the graphics card, every 6months or so.

What 5670 card do you have? I had one for a while myself a few years ago, in one of my alt boxes, but I don't recall it ever getting into the 80C range.

I'd be checking that the fan is spinning freely, that the cooler is free from dust, and that its getting ample airflow.
