My 6800GS benching results

I got my 6800GS yesterday, and I got 5123 stock. (Forgot about taking pics :\). I then decided to OC using Rivatuner, and got a max core of 450, and a max memory speed of 1140. I was kinda disapointed, so I rigged my cooler some. I put a 80mm fan on the back of the card for the memory chips, and I tightened the cooler some. (It was insanly loose). I then tried again, and got a max core speed of 502 and a max memory speed of 1222. Here are my 3DMark05 results:

Not to bad if I do say so my self. That is the Gigabyte 6800GS, using the newest Forceware drivers. I'm aiming for 6200, but before I push it anymore I'm going to need to pick up some thermal paste and maybe a better heatsink...

I just did a little tweaking, and found my my memory was good up to 1305Mhz! My score just went up 50 points though, so I put it at 1270 and am leaving it there. My core is still a dud at anything past 500Mhz. :\

i have come to state as long as the image looks good and i don't see bad frame rate with my eyes @ 1280x1024 4x AA ! its a good buy

something is definetly wrong..how well does your 6800gt OC? i scored 6000 even with my 6800gt AGP @435/1135 with 81.94 drivers.

435/1135 is damn good for a 6800GT, most don't hit that high.

really? i guess i got lucky with mine, but less than 5k on 3Dmark05 is low for a 6800gt, i scored 5124 with a unlocked 6800nu.

Well my eVGA 6800GS with the Nvdia Optimal settings scored 6373. But it was at 540/1.2. http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm05=1637659 At these clocks there were some artifacts, but I'm using rivatuner and my fan speed was at like 50%, so if I ever run them that high again I will turn that up to 100%.

My processor idles at 20*C so there is a lot of room for overclocking there, but since I have had this system for a few days I haven't gotten around to overclocking the processor

are you using the stock cooler for your 6800gs? what kind of temps do you get?
BTW: nice score on 05

Yeah stock cooling, I don't know load temps, but I idle around 38-40*C. When it closed out it was around 50* and lowering quickly. I know in ATI tool you can load your graphics card, is there a thing for Nvidia that you can use to load the card and still be able to be desktop?

i've heard folks say u could use atitool's artifact checker on nvidia cards... i'm not at home, so i can't check it out, but i plan to see when i get back tuesday...

i almost hot 5000 with am OC 6600GT 128mb..............but temps looked kinda deadly on its stock cooling so i toned it down a bit

This is true...you can also use ATItool's auto overclocking feature.

My temps full load for 20 minutes with ATI tool was 68*C. Of course while gaming Bf2 for an hour it only got up to 55*.
