My 8150 Bulldozer experience - so far!

OK, after a little playing around, this chip need a little more voltage (1.44) but runs very cool and is rock solid at 4.67 Ghz (23 x 203).
At that speed, Cinebench 11.5 scores CPU 8.01; OpenGL 58.95
Maxwell Render 13m13s score 351.98

BTW, I upgraded to Windows 8 to take advantage of any improvements in the OS.

Quick impression after very brief testing is that it runs cooler and is a little snappier than the 8150.

Finally, attention to all the readers. I will be selling the 8150. It is a retail cpu with the stock cooler in the tin. Haven't decided a price yet but I want to sell on this forum first.

Having a blast with this 8350 Vishera. I found that running at @4.69 (23 x 203) runs the best. Upped the manual cpu v to 1.44 for super stability. The CPU runs cool considereing the speed and the Corsair H100.
As mentioned above it "feels" a bit snappier than the 8150 and in some benchmarks you can see an improvement.

I'll be posting the FX 8150 on the sale forum by Sunday.

Load temps running IntelBurnTest (most stressfull) is at most 57C overall CPU and 49C per core.

Thanks, just using an H60 - I doubt it will be enough for an 8350. Looks like I'll be staying with my Thuban.

an H60 will be more than enough for a FX-8350 as even with a Hyper 212+ EVO it stays cool at high frequencies

I'm not running it SLI. Single EVGA 670 FTW is plenty.

I think a H60 P/P would be fine. Much better than stock. Obviously the custom water cooling systems are the best. The PileDriver does reduce the amount of power needed. I think the H 60 would work fine with it. Heck it's a lot better than the stock for even the Bulldozer 8150.

Your Thuban is a solid chip. I had an 1100T in rig 3 below. The 8150 improved it in some areas and was slightly behind in others. I have sold the 1100T so I can't say for sure, but the 8350 has bested the 8150 in every test I've done. Some improvements were slight and others more noticeable. If you have an AMD AM3+ mb even with the Thuban, The PileDriver merits a serious consideration.

Just to be certain, is there much of a difference between the 8320 and the 8350, or just frequency? I'm really considering selling my 8120 for a new chip, but I'm not sure if it's worth the extra money for the upgrade.

Thanks, I have a Fry's just a few miles away. 8350 = $199.99, 8320 = $174.99

I might pick up one to play with, running 1.4 volts through this Thuban anyway, not like it just sips the power.

8350 is a worthy upgrade over Thuban. It's very close to its "ipc" (in general,it can be both faster and slower) while clocking 20-25% higher and having 33% more threads. A true heir to 1100T.

Running neck to neck with my 2500k rigs and will out multitask them!

I have this clocked close to what I had the Bulldozer but the 8350 is faster and smoother. Runs cooler too!

The 8350 is snappier in windows? Wow. I would have thought that there wouldn't be any noticeable difference for 2 top of the line cpus.

If you already have that motherboard then there is no need to waste your money on a 2500K + new board when you can easily drop in a 8320 or 8350 cpu.

8320's price makes it an easy choice. Even at stock it's a great buy,never mind it clocks to ~4.2-4.4Ghz on stock cooler and with small vcore bump.

Good luck. I keep fooling around with differe3nt OC combos. Right now at 23 x 203. So far impressed.
