My 9/11 WoD

I saw a lot of these spread out on the internet but none were bone crushing enough for me. I really wanted to push myself to the brink. This is a modified sevens work out with increased reps and 2 additional excercises. 9 excersises, 11 reps each, 10 rounds. Yes it hurt alot :biggrin:

Survive 10 rounds of
11 Handstand push-ups
11 reps 135 pound Thruster
11 Knees to elbows
11 reps 225 pound Deadlift
11 Burpees
11Kettlebell swings, 2 pood
11 Pull-ups
11 squats
11 reps 225 bench press

Like "The Seven" isn't bad enough on its own. How long did it take you to finish this workout? That is a ton of volume and it seems unlikely that anybody other than an accomplished CrossFitter could even finish it. The original workout took some of the best nearly 30min and this is a little less than double the volume with more exercises. My BS meter is starting to spasm...

Like "The Seven" isn't bad enough on its own. How long did it take you to finish this workout? That is a ton of volume and it seems unlikely that anybody other than an accomplished CrossFitter could even finish it. The original workout took some of the best nearly 30min and this is a little less than double the volume with more exercises. My BS meter is starting to spasm...

Well over an hour and twenty but probably longer. My intent was to finish it not to time it. I am also an acomplished crossfitter and a Marine. I puked twice, almost collapsed once because the blood rushed into my legs after the deadlifts. Like I said my purpose was to push my limits and remind myself why I do what I do, honor the fallen and never forget.

Oh I am also 6'5" 230 pounds @ around 9-12% body fat when I get taped. Figured I would put it in here before you asked.

Sigh. High intensity training is not meant to last that long. This is how people get rhabdo. Although your efforts were profound and your intentions honorable, you put yourself at high risk of injury. If you start to pee brown, make sure to go see the physician.

I know. Dont worry I knew the risk before I started. I actually have my platoon working today so I have been walking around. I used to do two a days with CF in the morning and the CF Football in the afternoon. Now I just do the football work out. I am lucky that my body just takes punishment. Always has. Probably from years on a construction site in the summer and rediculous wrestling work outs in the winter. Man I think of those days and the law suits it would cause now with a smile. Thanks for the concern it is appreciated.

Props to you for doing it. These long suckfests are as much mental as physical. It's also nice to have the capacity do something crazy like this.

That said, beating yourself up with long grinders like this is likely deterimental to your training and definitely not recommended for the long haul.

How sore were you afterwards?

I am good to go this morning. A little tighter than usual in the shoulders though. I hammered those joints with the thrusters, Hand stand push ups and bench press so its expected. I am taking the day off even though I am on the 3 day split. Working again today ugh. Wife made me a great dinner of herb roasted chicken, a giblet gravy and grilled vegies with some potato spears in there for some carbs. She went on her morning run today I said f that lol.
