My 9800 Pro died :( please suggest replacement

I read somewhere sometime between April and May (late March is too optimistic). Worst part about it, ATI will charge $349 for X800XL AGP and not $299 MSRP as they have for the PCIe version. So 6800GT AGP is the way to go in that price range. Basically since the introduction of this generation of cards, ATI didnt once have a good high-end price performance offering for AGP users. That is why 6800GT allowed Nvidia to gain high-end market share. At the same time, both companies didnt have high-end offerings in PCIe format either. Even now some high end PCIe cards are much more expensive than their AGP variants. Problem is, by the time X800XL reaches AGP format, new generation will be so close, you'll have to be despearate to drop $300 towards X800XL AGP.

Well I've been doing a lot more thinking an researching. I would like to buy from one of the fellow Anandtechers and I have found the 9800 Pro as low as $140 shipped and the 6800 as low as $240. I play at a max of 1024x768 (2ghz, 1gb ram, 120gb sata). Is it worth it to spend $100 more for a 6800 or just get another 9800 Pro? When FPS differ in 70fps vs 85fps it doesn't seem that big of a deal to me. Am I missing something? Does a 6800 look alot better graphic wise in games like Far Cry, Doom 3 and HL2?
