Also I dont use Prime95 to stress test, I use Stressprime its basicly Prime95 with a GUI for stress testing only.

If it's your home computer, turn Prime on just before you go to sleep. When you wake up, you should have at least 8 hours done [depending on how much you sleep].

For now I can give you guys 1h stable screenshot that I can give in 20min

After the test is finished, you could use clock gen to turn the speed back up, then close it, and open cpu-z and take a screenshot of that with the successful prime95 screens.

Ok, so after making myself look totally incompetent. How would I go about checking to see If My CPU is like mempf's?

What is printed on my CPU is:

ada3800daa5cd
ccbwe 0528mpmw
1286318g5114z

so did I get lucky or is this just a plain old 3800?

Can somebody explain the stepping thing to me plz? I'm seeing it more and more on here and also referenced on the AMD site, what does it mean?

The stepping is the core revision. Newer revisions are normally better since they include fixes to errata and tweaks which make better (in one form or another) than earlier revisions.

mempf, I'd really like to know if your settings are 8hr+ stable and if so at what settings. I can't seem to go past 2.65 on my Patriot XBL although it is 12hr+ prime95 two instances stable. I can boot up to windows and do video editing and do dvd burning at 2.7 with a divider or 180 but can't seem to pass prime95

I got the CPU today but it was odd, its not a proper Manchester core its a Toledo with half the cache missing (it still reports as a Manchester but the steping and model number match with the Toledo cores)

Currently i'm at 2.7Ghz in OCing this thing. It's a monster with OCing.

Wish me luck as I'm still not quite stable at 2.7Ghz yet

is the cpu retail or oem
