DFI Lanpart UT Ultra-D
Corsair Value Ram 2x512MB PC3200 (I know it sucks)
Geforce 6600GT
Thermalright XP-90

I got the CPU today but it was odd, its not a proper Manchester core its a Toledo with half the cache missing (it still reports as a Manchester but the steping and model number match with the Toledo cores)

Currently i'm at 2.7Ghz in OCing this thing. It's a monster with OCing.

Wish me luck as I'm still not quite stable at 2.7Ghz yet

How's the voltage/temps? Even stepping back to like 2.66GHz would be great if your temps are not too high.

really? Holy crap..

I need 1.475 volts to be prime95 stable at 2.7 in my 4800. I have great air cooling, yet I reach 49C or so when running two instances of prime95 (one on each core) at this speed. I'm using arcitc silver 5, too - plus my case is modded and has 4 120mm fans - plus my 120mm fan on my heatsink. I think I could get to 2.8 if I really wanted to go crazy, but I'd need a more powerful fan - I'm just using a quiet one right now.

What are you using to test stability?

Maybe a screen of two instances of Prime95 large FFTs at the 24 hour mark would be convincing.

Reguardless if he is stable @ 1.4v or not, that is one awesome chip. 1.5v SHOULD make that stable and that would be a HELL of an overclock..

Shoot for 2.8ghz on 1.55v

I might have to make the switch!

shouldn't he try 2 instances at small fft's, that tends to stress the cpu more instead of the ram

What are the steppings, dates and so forth on your CPU and where and when did you get it?

Stepping is JH-E6 not sure about the date, never checked before I installed it.

Also this is not a true Manchester it's a Toledo with half it's cache missing.

give it 1.5v and see what it does. are you running 2 instances of small FFT's?

Done both Short and lon FFT . Temp is getting kinda high though.

As for the ram its running at 224 or something. The FSB is high though, this mobo will go passed 350 and remain stable

Even 10-12 hours would be nice. Good enough for me, anyway.

I would but the problem is that I barly have that much time just to stress test. Il work on it though

Also I dont use Prime95 to stress test, I use Stressprime its basicly Prime95 with a GUI for stress testing only.

If it's your home computer, turn Prime on just before you go to sleep. When you wake up, you should have at least 8 hours done [depending on how much you sleep].
