My Athlon XP 1700+ is green!!

Hi guys, I've just got my 1700+ and it is green!, I mean instead of the brown package I've seen all over the reviews an guides around the web mine has a green package. What does it mean? is it a different package? Different overclocking capabilities? I know that green and blue Thunderbirds differed in the material of the semiconductors, should it be something like that?. I've searched the web but found almost nothing about it. Thanks

Ive saw it before...the box and the processor...id think it works just the same without any big difference.

The green packaging is exactly the same as the brown packaging you've seen. The only difference is the color itself.

AMD decided on green simply for aesthetic reasons...and because Intel is blue and so green was AMD's next best choice.

I got it in Paraguay (South America), the manufacture date is week 48 2001 according to an artilcle I found on how to read those numbers and letters written in the core. I also found an article that says that the green package is a new one introduced few months ago because the brown one was reported by several customers to actually brake in two when placing big hsf which applied too much pressure over the core, the green one is made of another material and is more flexible. So, that explains it I gues... thanks a lot!

I got my green XP 1700+ retail over the weekend from newegg. It was really light in weight when compared to my old ceramic duron.
