My ATI Radeon 64mb DDR VIVO won't work with Abit NF7s

I just put a new Abit NF7-S, AMD XP2600+, and 512mb PC3200 memory in my system today. I loaded win xp and when it got to the final setup screen where you activate windows I got a blue screen. The computer restarted before I could see what it said (I am pretty sure it had to do with my ATI video card). I tried restarting the computer a few more times. It will load up to the login screen fine, but after the desktop loads, it freezes and a send error report message comes up saying that an error was caused by my ATI Radeon 64mb DDR VIVO card. Then I get a blue screen that says something and restarts real quick. I was thinking maybe new drivers would fix the problem, but I can do anything in windows before I get that error. What should I do?

I had that issue with ATI and the NF2 chipset, start in safe mode then install the chipset drivers, then boot in safe mode again and install the cat's. You are most likely getting drawing errors. BTW, make sure fast writes and 8x AGP support are turned off in the bios and that vid ram caching is enable before doing anything else.

I got lots of blue screens with that card even in a KT266 system and some wierd stuff happening with the text in the OS. Anyway eh DAPUNISHER's steps are good idea i think. post how it goes if u can
