My Blue Transparent Case

I got this idea from all those clear cases I've seen. Have fun and hope you have time if you're going to make one. This took me two weeks.

Very nice case Airjames. Did you make that case? It looks really cool It is a little on the small side for me but it is still really cool looking.

Thanks guys. It wasn't that hard but if you decide to make one on your own, you should draft it first on paper. I had a hard time with the back panel as it had oddities, like the power supply, card slot and motherboard i/o connects. Also, cost wise it cost me alot. $60 for the acrylic and $40 for the cutting. Then the little things like the leds, power switch and fans/filters, corner connects, plastic glue, bumpers for the bottom, drive brackets, screwless side panel connects, screws, sandpaper, buffing stuff cost a total of over $150. I got my 3 panaflos from teamawe.com and the little things from Fry's Electronics. The plastic I got at Ridoutplastics.com near where I live. Locust I could have made it bigger but I fear of weight and cost. It took me a while to figure out exactly what size I wanted as they only sell the acrylic in 2x2,2x4,4x4. I got one 2x4 and a 2x2. It's the same dimensions as the Enlight 7237

How did you figure out all the mounting points... for MB, etc..? Did you use the 7237 as the template?

What did you use for the template in the back (ps, I/O, card slots, etc..)?

You pay a minimum of 150 for a clear plastic one.
You have color and the satisfaction of making it yourself

Cyberdolphin, I actually just decided that the motherboard should be about 1/2 cm from the bottom and estimated the holes from there. The I/O ports are one hole, one hole for the cards, and one for the power supply. I then actually put my mobo against the side panel and drew out the holes. The drives holes were eyeballed and drawn out as well. I measured it but it wasn't reliable. I didn't use of the same dimensions as the 7237 except for the card hole distance and overall dimensions.
Jebus, I didn't have a real heatsink at the time and was using an Alpha pfh6035 w/ YS Tech fan.

Where do you get those silver Panaflow fans? Do they work good? I've been looking for them, but been unable to find them.

They work well. I got mine at www.teamawe.com and the untailed ones(w bare wires and no plug) for $16 each. I run them at 7v cuz I want it very very silent.

Okay, AirJames, I'm pretty new to mods and I'm still drooling over that case over here. How did you make your IDE cables look like that? Everything just looks so damn good.

Can you let me in on some of your tips? I was going to PM ya but you don't have them enabled.

I have a CasEdge Mid-ATX right now with a 300W PSU and I'm looking to get a new case. Which one would you recommend? Addtronics seem okay but they only have 4 5.25" bays on the full towers which I don't think is enough. I looked at the Tornado 2000 but damn that thing is expensive. AMK's 810 looks nice but it probably has too many fans.

Right now I have 2x Sunons on my Alpha with a CardCooler, 80mm intake at the bottom and a Delta Black Label below the PSU blowing air out.

I'll probably be upgrading my P3-450@600 to a P4 or even an AMD/DDR combo by years end.

Wow nice work AirJames, where did you get the AMD sticker? I'm doing a case mod my self, right now it is ugly with the bigg radiator screwed on the side of my case .. (check it out, the link is on my sigh)

Nice setup Devisor. I care more about what's on the inside =P That watercooler setup looks sweet. I got the AMD sticker off a Retail tbird that I returned cuz of a faulty cpu fan. I'd already stuck the sticker on so I thought there'd be no use returning it
