Have you heard of the book Gig? Your sample interview looks very similar.
Yes, we actually went through a number of books of this type (What Color is your Parachute, Working by Studs Terkel, etc.), but none of them addressed the particular question that people were asking: "What should I DO?" Whereas
Gig has a number of interviews with working professionals, its more of an educational-entertainment type of book where you gain insight into what their job is like.
Gig is often crude and is more of a documentary of what it's like to work in a particular job. Our approach is a bit more structured (12 standard questions) with questions tailored specifically towards learning about the hows, whys, and whats of a job. Rather than just "a day in the life of XX job", our approach is more of a job-shadowing or an internship style of an approach, designed to give the read insights into the working aspect of the job, if that differentiation makes sense.
Additionally, the first section of our book is specifically designed to help you choose a career path. It's basically step-by-step tutorial to helping you select and choose a career path, supplemented with structured yet readable and interesting interviews, followed by the appendices filled with numerous additional resources. So rather than just getting an idea of what a job is like, you gain deeper insights into the realities of different jobs, whether or not it is the right job for you, etc. I hope I'm explaining this clearly, it's 3:37am here lol.
