Congrats Kaido! It sounds like this will be a nice helpful tool for lots of high school students and possibly even lots of people beyond high school who are thinking about career changes.
Thank you! Yes, I think the primary audience will be high school students because they're the closest to getting kicked out into the real world and having to work for 40-50 years. As a kid you pretty much understand school, pizza, and video games, so having these interviews is a tremendous resource without having to be selective and do one internship or job shadow at a time (although we certainly encourage both of those once you have selected the career fields you're interested in!).
We do talk about changing a career, which is a difficult and scary prospect for a lot of people. A recent study showed that 84% of Americans aren't in their dream jobs, which says that a lot of people could be happier if they really knew what they wanted to do and went after it. The first big struggle, of course, is finding out what you actually want to do. The Career Roadmap provides a way to figure that out, and then the job interviews describe what the job is like, so you can see if you really want to do it or not.
One of the things I learned right off the bat is that job "images" are rarely true. You watch ER or House or whatever, and the actual jobs are nothing like that. This book gives you a chance to see what the reality is before investing 2-10 years in getting an education and then working at it for 40-50 years. So it's great for both students and for people who aren't currently happy in their jobs and want to do something different, but don't know what.
