My boss seems to think I spend too much time in the bathroom

The sales guys are closest and they never complain. I'd think he'd be complaining about me going to the bathroom and not the perceived length of time I spend in there if that were the case.

And yes, people do sleep in the bathrooms here. Bit too much alcohol/drugs and 2 hours of sleep, and you'll get people like that. Not the most stand up people around.

I told one of my co-workers that one of you guys on ATOT said that, and he calculated out how much he makes per year pooping. $165. The math was 4 days a week, 5 minutes per session.

I had a boss try that on me once.

I ignored it the first couple times, but he didn't relent. So by way of defense I kindly and mildly pointed out to him the many employees who smoke (...he was one of them. Didn't say that, though the implication was clear), noted they go to the bathroom as well as outside, and that any way one chose to count the time I was away from my desk far less than theirs. At that point, I changed the subject to outstanding projects and gave him updates on where I was (on time or ahead, in this case).

Never heard another word on that topic.

Step 2 would have been to express concern/comiseration for him being placed into such a position by his boss where he has to count minutes spent.

that happened to my friend at my old job. our manager was actually looking for him, and he saw his shoes in the stall cause he was crapping, and he waited outside the bathroom door for him and confornted him about it afterwards...

glad i don't work there anymore.
