Those breathe right strips are worth a try. They work for some, but not for others. You could also try giving him a different pillow. Elevating/angling his head might help.

Honestly though, when my bf snored I just kicked him in the leg until he stopped. He never knew! :evil:

OP, you said he wasn't overweight, but does he have a high percentage of body fat? Basically out of shape? Just a small reduction in body fat can dramatically reduce snoring. Cutting back on alcohol, especially before bedtime, also helps.

Ask him if he has a deviated septum. It seems fairly common in those people who self diagnose themselves with aspergers and work at EB Games when they're 40. This problem can be fixed with surgery... the nose that is.

Also, don't take any sedatives before bed. No alcohol, benedryl, heroin, barbituates, sleep aids, or anti-nausea drugs like gravol. Being too heavily sedated will make his throat a bit lazy and not open enough.

One thing you can try is giving him a Sudafed before bed. Sudafed is a fairly powerful stimulant, and stimulants can really help with breathing. He can drink coffee to get the same effect, but caffeine is far more likely to disrupt sleep and cause insomnia.

Is it a nose snore or a throat snore?

There's an operation that removes one's uvula if it's the throat....it can also help clear the airway. Just check him and see if he snores with his mouth open....

Get a tape recorder to show him the evidence....explain to him that if any woman(you or anyone else) is gonna live with him, he needs to do something. That might make him wanna take action...(though it might not be very nice )
