Don't you have a Honda? They are pretty much the easiest cars to steal ever. A 5-in-1 screwdriver will bypass the "security" in a matter of seconds. I used to drive Integras, so I know how much it sucks driving a marked target for every retard thief, just try to move on, and realize the chance of you getting the car back makes lottery odds look good.

See, another reason why stick shift is superior. Nobody steals sticks anymore. Google it.

This thread is full of win!

I believe your car is an older civic. It's more than likely already been chopped up and the parts being sold.

I don't want the car back if it's been stolen. God knows what the thief did to it. Just give me the check.

EDIT: assuming there isn't some emotional attachment or it's impossible to replace easily.

It was a 2000 Honda Civic EX Coupe, Taffeta White. Bought it for $4000 back in Jan of 2010 at 116k miles. It was stolen at 168k sometime in the last week while parked on the street. I had the minimum insurance required on the car; liability. It will be a total loss and I will get nothing back. Some of you might think, "Should've had comprehensive auto-insurance..." No. I've owned the car for 4 years. When I bought it, my insurance through my parents plan (which I am still on) was $120/month. Comprehensive was $220+/month. 48 months * 100 premium > $4000 I paid. Even then, the check they could give me will be less than what I paid for the car. Regardless of that...

I have a very strong emotional attachment to that car. It is my first and only car. I have not wanted any other car in any significant way to where I would replace it. I have only thought of adding other cars to the mix, never removing mine. I never thought of selling my car and never planned on it. I planned to keep it for the rest of my life even until it could no longer function. (I would never stop trying to fix it)

We were going to grow old together and now it's gone.

What type of security did you have for the car?
