My cat just ate some rose petals...

Sounds normal to me if it's an indoor cat. We have a cat and once in awhile, he'll chew up some of our indoor plants then a little later throw up the plant and whatever he just ate. Our friends' cats do this too.

I know pointsetias are super poison for cats. Don't know about rose petals though. I tend to keep plants away from reach of my cat just to be safe.

I don't know what's with cats though, they eat anything. Mine enjoys eating tishue paper, and her tail. She just chews on her tail all the time LOL. Cats are crazy.

this. I've known quite a few dogs who start eating grass and then throw up. I guess if they've got that sick stomach feeling, a little vegetation is all they need to force it up.

Granted, the dogs I've had have led healthy lives (had a mutt my whole life growing up, lived 17 years. staple food was Kibbles n Bits, with a variety of treats, mostly milk bone or snausages, current dog of only a few years has purina).


And off subject a bit... this thread makes me very confused when looking at OPs username. :laugh:

Cats are carnivores, but dogs are omnivorous, like humans and bears and pigs.

My cat likes lettuce and broccoli. I give her a little from time to time. I assume it's similar to eating grass, which they like to do from time to time. A little bit of fiber/vegetables to cats ain't gonna kill 'em.

Exactly. If they want it let them eat it. There's a reason they want it, they're not eating it to be a pain. But as mentioned there are some plants that cats should not eat, at all.

I have a cat mint bush the size of a shrub - they nom-nom-nom all they want on that. No puking but they get plenty high.

And forget about growing chives indoors, they'll trim that stuff to exactly a 1/2 inch tall and keep coming back for more.

One of my cats just ate the roses I got for my wife. Vomited onto a napkin on the dining room table. Nice and easy cleanup rather than the usual " Oh, holy fuck!" I get when I step in a nice pile of who-knows-what at 2 am when I am going to work.. No harm no foul, cat will be okay. Also, my one of my cats loves, I mean absolutely adores, plastic bags. You know, the Wal-mart type? Fucking bastard will eat a whole bag if I let him. And then the fun starts with the plastic bag vomit all over the house. I caught one of my cats today running away from me with a fucking balloon trailing along its side. He was eating the ribbon and tried to get away from me. I had to pull about 8 inches of ribbon out of his stomach. Nasty,nasty shit.

For the record, I am solely responsible for the cats I have brought into my home. Wife had nothing to do with it. The 4 we have left are not being replaced, like I used to do.

You can buy in every good pet store your own cat-nip plants to grow in your own home. They'll love that stuff and eat it as it grows.

Oh, and all cats puke. Don't worry about it. My cat is in renal failure and has been for the last 2yrs. I've been giving her IV fluids every other day and she still pukes. Hair-balls, etc. Indoor cat, never goes out.
